My bestest friend Hazel Lucy is going to the bridge today. We're all very sad even though we know she will be happy there with Buddie and Daddy Murray and all the angel cats.
I'm proud to say Hazel Lucy officiated at my wedding to my beloved Fidey and at Phoebe and Gimme's wedding too. She feels like an extended part of our family and we are just as sad as if she was.
We're proud to leave our names to include "who loves Hazel Lucy" because we do love her. Molly changed her catster name to Hazel Lucy2 because she felt so close to HL.
Hazel Lucy has been battling chronic renal failure, but throughout the disease she's been cheerful and still helping other cats as much as she could. So much so that many catsters didn't realize how sick she has been.
We'll all see you at the Bridge Hazel Lucy, but until it's our time to join you, enjoy your time there. Also, maybe you should help your mom find another kitty because she will be sad.

Thank you to all my friends and my pawsome hubby Fidey for the birthday gifties! Murray and I are 5 years old now. So we're all grown up for sure.
We each got a new lighted turbo scratcher and tonight we're having our turkey feast!
Mama and Daddy planned to go to Grandma's yesterday, but it got icy so they didn't. And they planned to make us our own turkey today anyway. Our birthday is more important anyway. MOL
I've been sleeping on Daddy and on the dog and waiting for that turkey to get done. I think it is so I'm going to go eat now!
Nom nom nom...

*snort* *giggle* ROTFMMTO
I'm sorry,*mmmpf* but trying to find out anything on Catster is like Madlibs since yesterday.
Hahahahahaha. I'm truly sorry about Sugar leaving us but what a sendoff she got! For a quiet little kitty, I'm sure she enjoyed every minute of it.
Somebody has cancer - I never figured that out and I saw Margo tell Muppet goodbye and oh my cats! I had to start laughing. I especially loved Samoa's diary trying to straighten it all out. Newman will never be h.o.h. any more than Harry will here!
We ourselves thought Taz was the cat going to the bridge for awhile. Oh my.

He writes so well I just copied:
Do you remember the good old days when we would gather on Catster to help a fellow cat and their humans in need?
I really thought the company would run with that good publicity, and be proud to be a part of it. Seems I was wrong. I never saw them say much about it.
We helped Aldo get to a forever home when his first mom died and we helped Muppet get life-saving surgery that cost thousands of dollars. People are too fond of dollars in my opinion.
Some cats feel Catster is no longer a fun place or a comfortable place to be so they've left or don't visit here much. (I agree it's not as much fun as it used to be). The helping paw efforts that used to happen here are now being coordinated off site.
Which brings me to my point! Smudge's family (of Smudge and Bob fame) is going through some really terrible times and is desperately in need of dollars.
So there's an auction going on at:
http://catsterauctions.blogspot.com/
Catster is in the name but I don't think it's officially associated with catster in any way. Just a lot of us initially met here. So don't assume Catster has approved or sanctioned this auction - they have not been consulted.
But it's for a good cause, so pop in over the next several days. It just got started, so more things will be added as we go.

Please be aware that many pet owners have reported that Nutro food has made their cats and dogs sick or sent them to the bridge. The FDA is investigating. After the other pet food companies solved their problems, Nutro continues to have recalls.

There was this thing over in Facebook where Mama listed 5 cat breeds she has had in her life.
Her very first cat was a tuxedo named Boots. Hey she was only 7 - not good at names. But since he lived on a farm, he disappeared one day.
People were always dumping cats at her house (still do) because it's a farm near a road. So one day a big, elderly Siamese showed up. He was very friendly and she named him Tom. Since he was elderly, he didn't get in any trouble other than to have lots of kittens. He died of old age and Grandma had Siamese barn cats for a loooong time. MOL! He left his mark for sure.
The next cat that was really hers was Murray after she'd been married 20 years! Daddy didn't like cats until then and suddenly he wanted a cat, so Murray was his anniversary present one year. From there on you know us all!
Now her first pet was a chicken. I tend to think of them as food, but yes, Mama had a trained chicken for a short time. Her grandma let her bring it in the house even, and it took naps with her. Her grandma said it died, but Mama is suspicious that it got cooked. Oh well. As long as she didn't know at the time.

Her blood sugar went up so she's having to eat healthier, which means more unprocessed food and more cooking at home. She made her own spaghetti sauce and sugar-free pie.
So now she's cooking in addition to working and our Catster time is suffering. *pouts*
I do like helping her cook though. She says I'm no help, but she's a grouch.
And she needs to walk. So I'm lobbying hard for a stroller. But she said, no we must make sure Muppet has enough money first. We pledged money to the bucket you know. If it 's for Muppet, that's ok. I'd rather have her get well than have a stroller.
Also we're gonna make blankets and keep them for times when auctions are being held to raise money. Teal C' and his crew need help but our extra money is pledged to Muppet. So we're gonna go into the blanket business. One is almost done!

All my meowing used to end in a question mark. Like "meow?"
This year I have more self-confidence and I go "meow!" Often I just do the me part too.
I think it's because I'm meowrried and I have a job as a nurse to the rest of the house. Can't sound like a silly Valley Girl my whole life.
Our dear friend Kashy had to suddenly go to the bridge last night. :-( It was very sad and unexpected since she was only 7 and had just seen her vet. I guess it can happen to anycat, but her mom just lost Picasso not long ago and now Kashy too! Kashy always looked like she might have a little bit of Maine Coon in her.
Well, I know she's flying around with Cassi now, so she's ok. But we need to purr for her family so they will not grieve too badly.

I noticed I didn't update my diary for a while, so here goes. It's Mama's fault because she's been too busy.
Well, this morning when Daddy woke up he was leaning on one arm talking to Mama in bed. That uncovered his back so I got right up next to it and checked it all over to make sure he's still healthy. It looked good to me and I was careful with my front claws.
Then Harry got brushed, so Murray and I sat on the floor and watched. It's quite a show! I enjoy watching any other animal get maintenance, but Harry's a pawful. So Murray watches that with me.
After lunch I checked on Miles, who was sleeping in Mama's basket of paperwork, and washed his head. I like to let him know I'm there if he needs me, but he objects and puts his ears back. I just ignore that and clean him anyway.
Then I curled up on Daddy for a nap. Just as I got settled, Mama said "Let's take a walk", and I had to look at her upside down and cross-eyed to let her know I JUST got comfortable and Daddy's lap was NOT available for walking.
She changed her mind and left us alone so I could nap. As she should.
Then we looked at Harry's breeder's page again. He's got such a big head since he's listed as her white male breeder. So he likes to go admire himself on the internet, since apparently looking at himself in the mirror and the computer reflection aren't enough. He's a little vain, you know.
So now I'm going to see if I can get Emma to play with me. I love her, but she's not too sure about me.
