Fall Colors

I'm turning orange for fall!

Mama doesn't know why but this summer my fur has been showing more and more orange in it. She thinks it's pretty. I hope Paws thinks it's handsome too.

Anyway, with all the orange coming out one of my pawrents might have been an orange kitty!

Otherwise life is good. I snuggle with Mama a LOT. I am her devoted Murray cat.

Boom!

We've had storms all day, and tonight they got even louder. Normally I don't mind, but I was scared tonight. I was running back and forth looking for a place to hide.

So Daddy picked me up and Mama held me on her lap. That was better, and I was starting to relax when the tornado sirens went off! We ran to the small bathroom and shut the door. I liked it better in there too because it wasn't as loud. Phoebe was throwing forks at us because she persists in thinking we're saying "tomatoes" instead of "tornadoes"! *rolls eyes*

Mama thinks a bad storm was close to us, and I could sense it because I've never acted like that before. When it was clear we came out, and I was ok again. Sophie is not leaving Mama's side tonight though!

Grooming Time

Mama has been on a grooming rampage. Everybody needed it. Except Molly who's fur hasn't grown out yet.

I like being brushed so I went first. It felt so good to get lots of undercoat off of me. It's been hot here too. Not nearly as hot as Texas, but still. And Mama clipped off a couple of mats I had. So now I'm especially handsome.

Then she clipped the nails on all 4 of Allie's paws. Allie yowled and even threatened to bite. But it didn't work. She still got clipped. MOL!

Then Emma got shaved off. Mama bought a pet clipper in an auction and it was pathetic. Emma has a very thick coat and the clipper wouldn't cut it. So we got out our old, big clippers and they worked. We're gonna save the little one for shaving Daddy's neck because he doesn't have much hair.

And since she was tired of clipping, Mama just trimmed Sophie with the scissors. Actually Daddy was tired of holding squirming dogs. Sophie wasn't as grown out as Emma so she looks ok.

But the big kahuna is Harry. He's got mats on his butt! And Daddy will have to hold him down for Mama to be able to get them. We're gonna have popcorn while we watch that show.

Christmas in June!

Paws sent me a Christmas present at Christmas and I just now got it!

After we moved, it turned up somewhere and got sent back to her, so she was able to put my new address on it and send it out again.

Anyway, now I see why Harry was snowing and turned down the thermostat! MOL! He's smarter than we give him credit for.

I got a great trackball toy that we all love, some catnip and some tuna flakes. This trackball has a top on it so you have to reach in to push the ball.

Mama took some iPhone pictures even though we pushed the toy to the messiest part of the house, and I'll put them here soon!

FDA Investigating Nutro

Please be aware that many pet owners have reported that Nutro food has made their cats and dogs sick or sent them to the bridge. The FDA is investigating. After the other pet food companies solved their problems, Nutro continues to have recalls.

Bathtub Water

In my opinion water from the bathtub faucet is the best water in any house.

So I've tried to learn how to turn it on, but with no success. Imagine my surprise when MOLLY turned it on night before last! She says she doesn't know how she did it though because it was an accident. So she can't show me.

This morning at about 6 am Harry turned it on! Dang it! He won't be able to show me how either.

I'm gonna have to devote some time to studying the bathtub. Maybe I can figure it out. I figure if Molly and Harry can do it, it can't be too hard.

Sheesh!

I haven't updated my diary in a while. I'm a pretty quiet cat normally.

But not this week. Ever since we got to the new house I've been talking and talking. From that talk, Mama is figuring out my words.

Of course, she already knew I call her "mom". I call Daddy "maa" and today she figured out my name for Allie is "owl". MOL! Allie's an owl.

I've been calling them because I keep losing them in the new house. Partly because there are still boxes and packing paper everywhere!

Today Mama started brushing some mats out of Sophie. Allie noticed, so she went to get brushed next. Then I came over and wanted to be brushed. Normally even when Mama brushes me, I don't lose much fur, but today she got a lot. I had a heavy winter coat and she thinks since I was nervous during the move I shed the whole thing now.

All I know is I feel a lot better getting rid of it. Allie is too impatient so Mama wasn't able to finish brushing her. I couldn't get enough brushing so I got rid of all the extra fur.

It's Too Cold!

Dang it! I was freezing this morning and when I went to curl up on the blankets on the bed, they weren't there!

Daddy picked the coldest day of the winter to wash them. Brrrr. I grumbled loudly and for a long time until they came back out of the dryer. Even then I was still cold.

So now I discovered the dvr is free and I'm using it this afternoon. It may not be the softest bed in the house, but it's warm!
