In a pool of sunshine; most often, he sleeps all lump-like underneath several layers of blanket & sheet in my bed.

I feed him Science Diet, but he loves the occasional Friskies salmon treat.
Skills:
He makes some of the most unique noises I've ever heard and plays a mean game of tag with my ankles; he's also my little bugcatcher and likes to alert us when we get some unexpected visitors..

Arrival Story:
I got him from a pet store six years ago, with the intent of buying a calico (without my mom's knowledge, unfortunately). All they had were mostly black and white kittens at the time and my dad and I were about to leave; I stopped in my tracks when I saw Smokey, though--he was sitting all by himself in the corner, looking terribly lonely while all the other cats played. I felt a connection right when he looked at me, so I took him out and cradled him. When he looked up at me serenely, I just knew he was the kitten for me, so I ended up taking him home that day; he's been a part of the family ever since. (I always thought it was amazing how much we have in common, behaviorally, even though we're two completely different species. One has to wonder if I chose him or if he chose me!)
Bio:
Though he's a shy cat to anyone who doesn't know him well (very similar to me with other people), he's the little angel of our family and has been for all these years. He's serious yet quirky, brooding yet optimistic, and a complete yin and yang within himself. He's definitely a momma's boy, and still exhibits some kitten-like tendencies every now and then. Smokey definitely can't resist a good chase around the house, a lone ray of sunshine to bathe in, or a strategically-placed laser pointer within reach of his paws.
