Well tickle my toes and call me giggles! DDP today. Me. Jack Rooney. Works for me! Thanks Catster!!!
I was gonna write something earlier today when we got e-mail and cat mail, but Mom had an appointment at that creepy scary hospital today which took forever and left her rather tired, frustrated, and ill. So she rested and we all snuggled.
And with that...please indulge me here while I rant a bit(or alot). I know that I've mentioned before that creepy scary hospital is,well, creeeeeeepppyyyyy and scarrrryyyyy. They wouldn't be creepy scary if it weren't for the fact that they be stoooopid.
So here's the deal: Mom was scheduled to have a CAT scan this afternoon. (because Lily did her own CAT scan on Mom a couple of weeks ago and she pointed out a strange lump on Mom's throat.)Well, Mom knew about the lump already, but Lily showed her that it had gotten larger so Mom went to see wonderful Dr. Pat last week and of course Dr. ordered the scan. Mom heard the phone convo. between the clinic nurse and old creepy scary. She knew exactly what was supposed to happen and when. BUT...when Mom gets to old creepy scary today things were,as usual,WRONG.
Mom stops at the desk to check in and they had NO orders waiting there. Which led to admitting going to central reg. who finally comes up with the orders from the clinic from LAST WEEK. Problem solved...right? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo. From admitting she gets sent to the lab. (The SAME lab where she used to work a number of years ago.) She handed them her paperwork and they get all lost in space because nobody bothered to send her orders to their computer. So phone calls were made...time was wasted...Mom is a bit more annoyed, but remains polite. Lab tech. then proceeds to give Mom the third degree and talk to her like she's an idiot. (Which just burns Mom's rear and politeness ends.)Mom points out to the aforementioned tech. that she has lab credentials that trump those of the tech. and a change in attitude is in order. Tech. shuts her face and does what she's supposed to.
From there Mom goes to radiology next. They DO have orders...but they have the WRONG orders AND the WRONG time scheduled for her scan and the WRONG scan scheduled. Receptionist wants to be difficult. Mom produces paper from clinic with the scan time and instructions for scan prep. More phone calls and more time wasted. An HOUR AND A HALF later a rad. tech. comes to take Mom to her scan. An I.V. is needed.(oh super..not! but Mom was aware that it was needed so no surprise there.) Scan was then delayed ANOTHER HALF HOUR while they TRY to get the I.V. started. ( I counted FIVE different bandages on Mom from their feeble attempts at I.V. placement.)Finally an I.V. is sorta in place(it was pretty iffy),contrast media infused, scan done in 10 minutes.
Mom is home about five minutes after that whole mess is finally over. Grumpy, tired, and feeling quite ill.
I have a renewed tremendously intense dislike for old creepy scary. I'd like to bite them.
Whew! Glad I got that off my chest and I thank you for listening to all of that.
I also thank Catster and all of our friends here. You guys are priceless.
Signed,
THE ONE and ONLY Jack Rooney
P.S. Stay tuned for more birthday wishes here later this week and a heads up that National Jack Rooney Day(my very own birthday) will be celebrated on the 31st. =^.^=

Today,we once again, lovingly remember a beloved family member. Today our Misky would have turned 17 yrs old. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge just a little over 1 yr ago. And as with every other member of our family that has gone before us,we miss her and reflect on all of the good that she gave to us. We remember all of her silliness and the way that she would discipline her children when they got a bit unruly even after they became adults themselves...and yet they loved and respected her very much. They were a close bunch. And as Misky and her brood blended in with the rest of the herd,it was smooth and peaceful. There was no fighting or anything. They were accepted as family by everyone. That's just how we roll.
So today I say Happy Birthday sweet Misk. We love and miss you very much.
Love,
Jack

Today we lovingly remember our beloved Ornery and our Great Grandma on their birthday. Ornery would have turned 19 today and our Great Grandma would have been 97 today. Ornery left us on 7/9/05 and Great Grandma on 2/16/91. I know that they are together with our other loved ones. Happy and free of pain. Waiting to reunite with the rest of us when our times come.
I never got to meet either of them, Mom says that I would have loved them both very much. They were both a bit feisty...strong individuals, but with hearts of pure gold full of love for everyone. Sadly, another thing that they had in common was that they were both taken from our family by the same type of cancer.
Life just isn't fair. Mom says that she's heard a great many people respond to that statement with things like ," Well, nobody ever said that it would be." and "Suck it up." Some folks are just so clueless and completely lacking in compassion for others. Makes me sad and downright mad.
So,we shall spend this day in quiet reflection and remembrance of Ornery,Great Grandma, and all of our loved ones that have gone before us.
I'd also like to say a huge thank you to our friends here for all of their friendship and support and for leaving presents on everyone's pages here. I hope you know just how much you mean to us all.
Much Love,
Jack
