Today...is tough. We quietly and respectfully remember our beloved Alex. She would have been 22 today. It's hard to put into words the sadness that I see in my Mom's eyes...and the tears being shed for such an incredible friend and companion. Add the sadness of a life lost a number of years ago to the loss of those of our friends that have left us since Al passed and it's pretty overwhelming. And then...while some(dare I say A LOT) of people and other cats are probably mourning their own losses of loved ones,we get assaulted by certain things that have been posted in various places and even shown on the news. Plz read on....
Now I'm going to rant a bit: What I'm about to say may upset some people and I honestly hope that it does. I'm sure that many are aware of what that guy did with his deceased cat...turning that poor baby into a "helicopter". Sending him to "heaven" he claims. Helping him to actually fly around with birds he claims. I wonder just what does that guy think was going to happen to that kitty's most likely battered remains after he got done with his little remote controlled flight fun?? Pffffffft!!! Well peeps,I'm throwing the BS flag on that little video atrocity. And to add to my WHAT IS WRONG with people disgust, the thing with the person displaying their cat's skull on their mantle??? Really??? News Flash here folks: None of those things are "art" of any sort and are macabre at the very least. WHY?? Hey,I totally get that others have beliefs that differ from my own...and I can respect differences. But there are some things that ya just don't do. What have we become when we can't honor our departed LOVED ONES with a simple but dignified burial or cremation? Instead they are turned into some sort of twisted spectacle. Man,I just don't get it.
So many animals die in shelters and on the streets every year because their owners are irresponsible and/or believe that these sweet creatures can just be thrown away and it's no big deal. There really is NO excuse for that. I'm so thankful to those that adopt animals and give them so much love and provide them with ALL of the things that they need to live long happy lives.
It's time to wake up world. We're in trouble when you not only show blatant disrespect and disdain for animals, but also to your fellow man.
R.I.P. Chief. We love and miss you so very much.
