Today,we once again, lovingly remember a beloved family member. Today our Misky would have turned 17 yrs old. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge just a little over 1 yr ago. And as with every other member of our family that has gone before us,we miss her and reflect on all of the good that she gave to us. We remember all of her silliness and the way that she would discipline her children when they got a bit unruly even after they became adults themselves...and yet they loved and respected her very much. They were a close bunch. And as Misky and her brood blended in with the rest of the herd,it was smooth and peaceful. There was no fighting or anything. They were accepted as family by everyone. That's just how we roll.

So today I say Happy Birthday sweet Misk. We love and miss you very much.

Love,

Jack

Today we lovingly remember our beloved Ornery and our Great Grandma on their birthday. Ornery would have turned 19 today and our Great Grandma would have been 97 today. Ornery left us on 7/9/05 and Great Grandma on 2/16/91. I know that they are together with our other loved ones. Happy and free of pain. Waiting to reunite with the rest of us when our times come.

I never got to meet either of them, Mom says that I would have loved them both very much. They were both a bit feisty...strong individuals, but with hearts of pure gold full of love for everyone. Sadly, another thing that they had in common was that they were both taken from our family by the same type of cancer.

Life just isn't fair. Mom says that she's heard a great many people respond to that statement with things like ," Well, nobody ever said that it would be." and "Suck it up." Some folks are just so clueless and completely lacking in compassion for others. Makes me sad and downright mad.

So,we shall spend this day in quiet reflection and remembrance of Ornery,Great Grandma, and all of our loved ones that have gone before us.

I'd also like to say a huge thank you to our friends here for all of their friendship and support and for leaving presents on everyone's pages here. I hope you know just how much you mean to us all.

Much Love,

Jack

Another quiet somber day here today as we remember our boy Stinky (AKA Skip) on his 22nd birthday. He was a great guy. He had some trust issues because of the people that were supposed to be his family before Mom took him in. He had a rough start in life. That's not something that was his fault. He certainly deserved to be treated better than what they did to him. That's why Mom took him in and gave him a real home. A home where he was loved and cared for. In return,he gave a lot of love back. Most people were terrified of him. They never took the time to get to know him and learn who he really was. They thought that he was mean, but he wasn't. He just wanted and needed to be understood and loved for who he was. He was a big ol love. He learned how to trust one person. That person was our Mom. He loved to snuggle with Mom and with the rest of the cats. He even came to love our Honey dog.(may she R.I.P.) He was one of the many animals in this world that was considered a lost cause...a throw away. When given a chance to be the guy that he really was and to be treated well he thrived.

Just goes to show ya...the animal is a reflection of it's gaurdian. Treat us how we should be treated and you've made a great lifelong friend. Mistreat us and it makes the so-called human look like a total bozo and it's the innocent little furry being that suffers.

Happy Birthday Skip. We love and miss you big boy.
