Arrival Story:
Angie was a stray, who started to hang around the cabin in the fall of 2002. We put food out for her, but couldn't get near her for months. We would come outside on winter mornings to feed her, and find her lightly covered with a coating of snow on our front porch couch. I named her Angie, because I thought she was my little black angel. When my husband would go to work in the morning ... I would hear him sing the lyrics of the famous Rolling Stones "Angie ... ain't it good to be alive". Come spring, I managed to creep closer and closer until finally, with the help of my neighbor, we were able to catch her. At that time, we thought she was pregnant, because her belly was quite large ... so I took her to the vet to get her checked out. Well ... "she" turned out to be a "he", and the pregnancy ... merely worms. The vet fixed him up and started calling him Angelo, but he seemed to prefer Angie. They think he's about the same age as his brothers, who have warmed up to him more and more over the years, but still don't accept him as one of their own. But Angie is cool with that. He's just happy to be fed, loved, and able to sleep on the bed and couch.
