Oh, Happy Day!

My humans are generously recognizing my uniqueness today! Extra chin scritches, lap time and treats. None of us can believe I am 9 years old today. My arrival seems like just a little while ago. Biscuit and Tara are my buddies. (Nabi likes to befriend everyone, but sometimes he bugs me.) He is the only one bigger than me, so I guess he is just curious. We share the top of the cat tree for naps on occasion. My favorite place is on the lap of the male human, watching TV. He really must be wearing denim, though. There is just something comforting about a pair of well-worn blue jeans.

I have a special skill of meowing loudly when I am hungry or bored. Preferably in the middle of the night! There was a time when my humans were concerned about this (success!), but now they just call my name. It is fun to cause a disruption from time to time. Wake them up and have a good laugh.

Another year of chasing feather toys, scratching the cat scratcher and chasing Biscuit or Tara. Purrs to all!

Diet Cake?

OMG, what's this about my needing to shed a few pounds? Just more of me to love, I say. British Shorthairs are prone to be a bit plump my human told the vet.............uh, this is more than pleasingly plump. Okay, hit the treadmill. After a good nap, maybe?

I am still cute. Not F-A-T. Will convert that belly bulge to muscle, then good luck trimming my nails! Ha! Treadmill Shred-mill. We'll see about that!

Holy Catastrophy

MOL! Our human was in a state of near witlessness, brought on by the crashing of her hard drive - whatever - she was upset that she might have lost business files.....but far worse....our furfamily photos! Now that would have been too much! Thanks to backing up and a wonderful recovery tech, she is back in business and play! Still recovering settings and whatnot. Sort of a forced Spring cleaning of the computer? New & bigger hard drive. Phew.

She said she's going to post new photos to celebrate!

Fur everywhere!

My humans decided to give me a little grooming this morning - pedicure and comb out with the Furminator! AGGGHHH!! Don't tell anyone, I LOVE it.

I got my licks in though. There was so much fur, my humans were surrounded. All that vacuuming done last night was undone today by my massive dispensing of excess fur. My coat is so thick and plush - you wouldn't know any had been removed. It is nice to have those little mats gone. The treats are a great bonus, too.

It's another rainy day. I'm going to watch the birds in the back yard & think about my Super Bowl plans. Catnip Chips & dip? I'm a Patriot's fan! Tom Brady is HOT!!!

Bright smile!

What a week! Monday, I had my annual dental hygiene appointment. No tartar, but bad gingivitis! Phooey. One of my very tiny front teeth was loose & had to come out. It was on the bottom, so it doesn't show when I SMILE.

Twice everyday, my human has to take me back to the vet for an antibiotic shot. She knows I hate those stinky Clavamox drops - I'd never let her give me those. Then, when it was suggested she give me daily injections (MOL) -she said she did not want to "learn" on me. (YEAH!) So, I get the professional treatment.

After a few days of this, I am not even kicking (my specialty) up a fuss. It's kind of cool taking a short ride in the car & quick in/out of the vet's office. Maybe those antibiotics are making my mouth healthy & I am just happier all around??? Sure seems like it!

Now my human is going to TRY to maintain my healthy gums with dental gel. GOOD LUCK! I really don't like my mouth touched!!! Brush me, pet me, but leave my mouth alone!

Off to snooze on my sunny window tuffet. I keep an eye on the whole backyard.......I'm the watch cat!

My turn!

One of my special pleasures is to assist my humans reading the morning newspapers. Biscuit and Tara can scram - this is my time with the food and attention dispensers!

My clock wasn't "off" this morning at 1AM, I was just in the mood to scramble things up a bit. Yowling, mewing and generally making peculiar noises - lol- until SUCCESS! One of them came to check on all the noise! That was it - just seeing if I could get your attention. Success was sweet. Lots of chin brushing and sweet talk. Okay, you can go back to bed now....

Well, back to normal - if there is such a thing - this morning. I supervised the coffee making, general kitchen scuttle and then settled in for the morning papers. So nice to have my humans trained.

4 years old today

Lots of goodies today, catnip, extra brushing, laser chasing.....that part went really well when the power went out this evening! The good old CA power grid is overloaded during the heat wave. Darn, the AC was off for almost an hour! Other than that, it's been a pretty spectacular day.

Thanks for the birthday rosette, Dash. Very kind of you. Watermelon is purrfect this time of year!

Big Bully!

I was rude to my sister, Tara. I gave her a hefty swat & she ran to another room. My human told me to cut it out & then gave me the cold shoulder! Now, I have to explain myself and apologize.

In the morning, I want all the attention from my human. While she eats breakfast, I prefer that only I can walk on her newspaper, head-butt, cheek-rub and chase the chirping kitty teaser wand. Tara just doesn't "get" that I don't want to share - she thinks everyone can play together! My humans take her side! So, now I'm the "bad kitty."

He He....that's right B A D! I walk with a swagger & will take what I want. Oh, I'm really just a big softy. I'm sorry Tara. I really didn't mean to scare you.

Waxed paper butterflies!

Aside from direct attention, waxed paper is a pretty terrific toy! Just a small piece with a little crumple floats through the air just like a butterfly! I taught my human about this tonight, as she was wrapping up some leftovers. That stack of waxed paper strips looked pretty interesting......"How about you tear me off a piece?" Next thing you know I was jumping and chasing my crunchy, yet floaty new toy.

Well, it's late. Time for the hall running marathon to begin. Then a nice long snooze to dream up what I can teach my humans to do for me tomorrow......
