Skills: He can rip up any carpet in any room with his claws no matter how well it is nailed down and he can clear any room after a trip to the litter box
Arrival Story: When my husband and I lived in our last apartment, Pants would always hang around our house. He was so adorable and friendly, we obviously had to feed him and give him water and treats. We even built him a cat house for shelter in the winter. I never thought to take him in our house because we already had three cats and I just assumed he belonged to somone else. We moved out of our house due to a crazy heroine addict neighor, but we didn't take Pants with us. After 3 months of being witout him, I made him a Catster page so I could look at his picture (I only had one). I missed him terribly and every time I would look at his page I would cry. So my husband and I drove to the old neighborhood and sure enough my boy came running when he heard us call him. He jumped right up onto our old porch like we had never left him. We tried to find his owners but no one in the neighborhood knew who might own him so we figured 'to heck with it' and brought him home to live with us.
Bio: It is my husbands and my belief that Pants was left out side and neglected because he has a urination issue. He has a soft surface prefernce and likes to pee on everything. It has taken us nearly a year to solve the problem and now he is doing very well with a nice box of potting soil. When we first brought Pants home he was so timid. He would flinch or run away if you reached to pet him. He never talked or made any noise. He hid in his "bedroom" or in corners or stayed on the cat tree all day without interacting with anyone. It took about 6 months, but he is really coming along now. He tolerates pets and once in a while a quick hug. He chirps and meows at us and begs for food. He plays with the other cats and with toys and runs around like a mad cat. Despite having been outside for 2 years, he has happily become an indoor cat and has only snuck out twice in the last year. He has gained 2 lbs and is no longer skinny and scrawny and his coat is just gorgeous. I love all my cats, but Pants is truly the most gorgeous cat I have ever seen. We love him so much and we are so happy we brought him home with us!
He has this weird love for dryer sheets. Not new one. Used ones from the dryer. He lays on them. He uses them to bury food he doesn't like. He sleeps with them and bunny kicks them. He carries them around with him. Its so strange. He currently has a collection going in his bedroom...
Well last night was not fun at all! Mommy had to take me to the emergency hospital last night! Mommy can't figure out what happened but when she was going to bed last night around 2am she noticed my eye was really, really, REALLY swollen. So much so that you could only see the pupil of my eye. Mommy thinks I might have been wrestling with Alex. Mommy has never seen anything like this she said and she called the Kitty ER to see if they thought I should come in. They said most definitely so in the carrier I went. Thank goodness the shelter from Conneticut sent Mommy her new carrier just 3 days ago. (They lost hers when she sent it along on a trnasport.) I was the very first one to poop in it. Hey, you never know what can happen when a guy gets nervous. Those car rides are stressful. To add the cherry to the cake, it was snowing lots and lots and lots. There was 6 inches on the ground so far and the plow trucks didn't plow any of the roads yet so Mommy had to drive real slow. Dr. Smith said that my eyelids are too swollen to do any real tests and tell what is wrong so he gave me eye medicine and medicine to put in my mouth. Mommy says it will make all the swelling go down so that my regular vet can look in my eye in a day or two and see if it is scratched. Mommy says thank God for small miracles because since her and Daddy lost their jobs, things have been really tough with money and my whole visit including seeing the vet, a shot of sub Q anti-biotic, a tube of eye goo, and three syringes of anti-biotic for Mommy to give me, the whole thing only cost $146. She thinks that was pretty good considering it is an emergency clinic. So we got home around 4:30am and Mommy and Daddy crashed in bed. I am fine in every other way. Mommy says the whole eye thing probably bothers her a lot more than it does me. :) Well I am off to nap in a sun beam. I had a late night you know! ;)
The rules: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog.
My 7 random facts:
1) I only purr when I knead my Daddy's clothes.
2) I hug and greet strangers, but I never hug my Mommy.
3) I don't like tuna or any kind of wet food.
4) I don't associate with the other cats in my house unless it is to chase and hiss at my big sister.
5) I love fresh water and I will stand at a water dish and meow until Mommy comes and changes the water and gives me fresh water. (I especially love icecubes in my dish!!!)
6) I lived outside for 3 years, but since Mommy took me in 8 months ago I have only tried to get out once.
7) I love to sleep on the top step of the stair case and wrap my paws around the banister.
