I HIT THE JACKPOT!

Mom hasn't been giving me treats for the past few days, which I have to tell you is really horribly unfair. I didn't do anything wrong, I've been extra nice and snuggly and purr-y. But still no treats. Then last night when she and Sydney-pup came back from their run she grabbed my treat-jar. WOO HOO! I ran-ran-ran over to the sofa, tail in the air, to get my pets and treats.

Mom put the treats down... one of my usual treats and a couple of a new type. Hmmm... *sniff* *sniff*... *crunch* *crunch*... hey - these are pretty tasty! Later that night she gave me more treats... one of my usual and a few of the new yummy treats. *crunch* *crunch* *crunch* Yep - I think I like these new treats. As a matter of fact... I LOVE them. One of them tried to roll between the sofa cushions and I dug-dug-dug with my little nose to get it out. You can't waste treats like this - they're too precious!!

Then dad came home... mom apparently told him about my new treats, and he must have heard that I was treat-deprived and felt guilty 'cause he gave me a few of the new treats too. What a great night!!!!

Then I hit the jackpot! You won't believe this... truly... but I went to my food bowl... and the WHOLE THING WAS FILLED WITH MY NEW TREATS!!!! MANNA FROM HEAVEN!!! I chomp-crunched for a while, then curled up for a nap. And when I woke up I went over to my bowl... and it wasn't a dream. It was really and truly still filled with treats.

I'm one happy little cat! PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRS!!

SHHHH - don't tell Seamus but the "treats" are actually his new low-sodium low-phosphorous, low-protein food to help treat his CRF. I offered it to him as a "treat" because he usually refuses to eat new kibble. Guess my sneaky little trick worked. :-)
