Arrival Story:
An old man brought two young kittens into the dog kennel I was working at at the time. He said that they had been abandoned by their mother and found on a busy street in the industrial area of San Francisco. I opted to adopt one to save it from being delivered to animal control. The other kitten was taken home by another employee. I planned to litter train the kitten and give him to my father who was grieving over the loss of our family cat, Bert, who I thought looked similar. I had to take great care to not let our landlord know we had a cat, since animals weren't allowed. I was quite attached to my little cat by then and couldn't think of giving him up, so when the landlord found out, I was certain to find us a cat-friendly apartment, where we live presently.
