FOOD !!! and lots of it; he's always winding himself around my legs, meowing for more - even when his dish is full; being brushed is bliss for Merlin, as is sleeping on my bed - we hold paws :)

all visitors - because he is so timid, he runs away and hides; hates being ignored by his Mum, and having his nails clipped

my stomach, chest or legs - they are his kneading-board - and boy, is he heavy

Gosh, that's hard to say as it changes with his moods and with the weather

you name it, he wolfs it, then often brings it straight up again ... he is such a pig

Merlin often locks me out of the house by pushing down on the screen snib; he talks with me all the time; and he has a special way of leaping up onto the highest places where I USED to keep all my antique jugs, vases and platters - all of them broken ...

Arrival Story:
When my bestest cat ever, a male Brown Burmese, Benson, was stolen and his female mate, Sasha, pined away, I was just heartbroken & went to the RSPCA - a huge animal rescue centre in Brisbane, Australia, and adopted Angel as a playmate for Merlin, who I'd adopted a few months beforehand. Both are pure black British Shorthairs ... shiny and silky He was a tiny wee little black purry ball who grew into a giant ... he's so strong that when he accidentally head-butts or chin-butts me, I nearly pass out. Angel was fully grown when she was adopted - she was tiny then & still is now ... weighs about as much as 2 feathers ... she smooches and purrs so much that she drools & drips ... yukky but sweet.
Merl is a big strong boy, but very shy and easily spooked which is sad ... he does feel safe with me whenever I'm in bed or on the bed reading - he cuddles up & gives me kitty kisses all over my face, then purrs off to sleep - that is really sweet ...

Merlin and Angel love each other to death & when they're not grooming themselves, they groom each other, every day, for ages ...
it's SO cute to watch and I never tire of watching them, and they never tire of grooming each other, day after day after day ... it's too beautiful ...
and Merlin's so funny to watch: he stalks Angel, pins her down, then licks her all over ...
