   Leave a treat for Swee'pea - Adopted!

Nicknames:
(Called "Sweetie" by her other foster mom because she didn't like the name I chose.)

Quick Bio:
-part feral-cat rescue

Birthday:
August 1st 2006

Coloration:
Flame Point

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
I rescued this kitten on 9/27/06 from a bush in a grocery store parking lot. A few days later I was able to rescue her littermates, Olive and Popeye. They are all living in another foster home now because I felt I already had enough animals to care for. That kind foster mom was able to rescue a fourth littermate who she named Maddie, and she rescued their mother, an all black cat she named Xena. The mother is completely feral so the foster mom had her spayed and vaccinated and plans to release her into her backyard in a few weeks.

Bio:
**UPDATE: Olive and Swee'pea were adopted together on 2/3/07 by an older, retired couple. Unfortunately, 4 days later the new owners wanted to return Swee'pea because she started to hiss and scratch. They felt Olive was starting to retreat more because of Swee'pea. I went to pick Swee'pea up and the people really are nice and, admittedly, Swee'pea is going to be a bit of a project, so I brought her home with me. I'm glad Olive has a good home, though! It's so strange to me that Swee'pea has had the hardest time adjusting because she was rescued first and when I had her for those 3-4 nights, she actually seemed less scared than Olive and Popeye. But the foster home said Popeye was the most playful and "kitten-like." Weird. **UPDATE: Swee'pea was adopted 2/18/07 by a young couple with no other pets. I hope their quiet home will be just what she needs. **UPDATE: Swee'pea was returned again on 5/4/07. They said she started out fine but a few weeks ago was getting worse and hissing and scratching at them. So she's back at my house and she seems fine. **UPDATE: Today is 10/5/08 and Swee'pea still lives with me. She is almost completely a "normal" cat now (whatever that means). She comes to me to be petted, she plays with the other cats, she likes to snuggle with Sara, she's fine with the dogs (she even likes to play with my Chihuahua Squiggy). **UPDATE: Swee'pea and Sara were adopted TOGETHER on 1/15/09!!
