Likes: Garfield was a very sick little kitty, so he loved to sleep quite a bit. He also loved affection, whether it was just a pat on the head or a gentle scratch. I guess that he knew his time was limited, so he wanted to soak up all the love he could.

Pet-Peeves: Unfortunately, he wasn't around long enough to develop any pet peeves although I do remember that he didn't like to be left alone.

Favorite Toy: he had a little plastic ball with a bell in it that he loved to bat around the house on days that he was feeling good.

Favorite Nap Spot: His favorite spot to sleep was in anyone's lap. Not only were they warm and comfy, but we would spoil him with all kinds of pets and kisses.

Favorite Food: He loved his canned food better then his dry food.

Skills: I believe that our sweet little Garfield was put on this earth to help us find our luvcat. We all need guidance in some way. I believe that Garfield was sent to earth to be our guide.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: When my family and I moved into our first house, our parents decided that we were allowed to have a cat. Excited, my mom, brother, sister, and I piled into our car and went to the local animal welfare society. We were quite overwhelmed by the number of kitties that needed homes and thought that it was going to be hard to pick just one. Then, we saw this little tabby colored kitten who walked with his head crooked. When we asked the lady what was wrong with him, she informed us that his ears were infested with earmites. I remember saying that we had to pick him because nobody else would want him. It was then that we decided to take Garfield home with us.

Bio: Unfortunately, before Garfield came home, he had to be examined one last time by the vet. The lady at the animal welfare warned us that he may have to be put down if the earmites were too bad. We had to leave that day without him and anxiously awaited his fate. I don't know if the vet decided that he would rather let Garfield die in a loving home then in a cage, but he gave us the ok to take him home. We brought him to his new home and gave him as much love, food, and scratches that we could.
You may notice, however, that I only have one picture of Garfield. One day, a week or two later, we left Garfield in the house and went outside to play. We weren't out long when our mom called for us to come home. When we went inside, my mom told us the sad news that Garfield had just died. He climbed up in my dad's lap, curled up, and passed away. I think that this was the first time in my life that I cried as hard as I did that day. I was only in second grade at the time and found it hard to believe that our first pet had just died. We wrapped him in one of our baby doll blankets and buried him in our back yard. I was the one who laid him in the ground that day and I'll never forget the sadness I felt putting my little kitty in the cold ground. A few weeks later, we returned to the animal welfare in search of another kitty to bring home. That is when we found our Luvcat and we were blessed with him for eighteen and a half years. It's sad that little Garfield had to leave us so soon, but I'd like to think that he was brought to us for a reason. If he hadn't of left us so soon, we would have never of known our Luvcat. For that, I will be forever greatful. My dear Garfield,
Many years have passed us by,
And many times I still ask why.
But I know that I will always feel your love,
From the Rainbow Bridge in the sky above.
Until we meet again, my little fur angel.

dear furriends,
it has taken me quite some time to find all of you here at the bridge. thanks to catster, i have been able to do that and have met some wonderful kitties of all kinds. the specialist kitty i met was my brother cat, luvy, who owned my family after i did. he is just the greatest kitty. he has this really nice girlfriend named bonita, who took me to the stream at manya's pawty and taught me how to catch minnows. we had so much fun. i now have an adopted sister named bunny and her and i love to spend hours chasing butterflies and playing in the catnip fields. i also met a great kitty named squeak at hammock talk. we had so much fun pouncing, chasing leaves, a napping under the big oak tree. what more could a little kitty ask for??
well, my kid thinks that i am special enough to be entered in the world's coolest dog and cat show. i'm really excited about it because i have never been in one of these before. here is my link if you want to check out my picture and vote for me.
