Arrival Story:
I became "owned" by Nala when I went to an Animal Rescue place with the full intention of adopting an adult orange tabby cat who already had all the shots, operations and needed a home. The first cat I saw going into the cat room was a large adult orange tabby. I thought "perfect!" But then I looked in the cage next to her and I saw this little ball of black and mottled color fur huddled in the back of the cage. It was a Tortie kitten. I decided to hold her for "just a second" and as I was pulling her out of the cage, I realized there was a lot of chaos going on around us. Cats were meowing, dogs were barking in the room next door, people were milling around in the same room, so I thought "oh boy, this will be a wrestling match with a kitten--they just get too excited" but when I picked her up, she just settled into my arms and looked at me. She didn't try to scratch or climb all over me, she just calmly sat in my arms like she belonged there. That was it. I adopted her and took her home immediately. She was covered in fleas and wanted to be around my neck or sleeping on my chest every second. She is in full and perfect health today (thank God!) and she runs our house. And with one paw tied behind her back (not really :) ) she managed to turn my husband into a cat person! Yay!

I think her mom is named "Daisy" but she was alone in the cage when I rescued her. She was born in Warner Robins, GA or Macon, GA.
