Gray and White

Being petted, being kissed, getting attention, being loved on, causing trouble.

Being reprimanded.

Favorite Toy:
His feather stick, Desi and Sampson's tails.

Favorite Nap Spot:
On someone's chest, inside a bag.

Favorite Food:
Nutro canned food and pouches, shrimp, and Whiskas Temptations treats.

He excells at being annoying.

Arrival Story:
We wanted to get a friend for Desi, who he could entertain himself with during the day while we were gone and also at night (lest we continue to have our noses tackled), but the shelter we got Desi from wouldn't allow us to adopt another kitten, since we'd already gone over our limit by adopting three this year (Norah, Sam, and Desi), so the day after we adopted Desi, we went to Petsmart and looked at the kittens that Cat Call had up for adoption. Well, Maxwell was in a crate with two little tabby kittens, so he caught my eye right away. I picked him up and he started purring away, and was just absolutely adorable. He was a little sleepy, so I couldn't determine his personality all too well, but I took a gamble and brought him home anyway. Turns out that was a good gamble to make. :)

Maxwell loves to be loved. All you have to do to get him to purr is to merely look at him, and his motor starts running. He insists that if one hand is not busy doing anything, that it needs to be petting him. When we first brought him home, he was very wary of Sampson, and would stand his ground by hunching up and hissing and spitting at him. After a few weeks, however, Max seemed to come to the realization that Sampson lives here too, so he better make the best of it. Nowadays, Max looooves Sampson. If Sampson is sleeping, Max wants to curl up around his face. If Sampson is playing, Max wants to tag along with him. If Sampson is standing idly around, Max wants to pounce his feet or face. In the morning, Max has a particularly effective method for waking Sampson up - attack his paws. Now that he's realized Sampson won't eat him, he is a bigger pest to him than he is to anybody else.

Mom had some people come over today to install her surround sound, so I thought I'd help 'em out if they needed it. I supervised all their work, and then I played with their bags and moved them out of the way for them, and then I did some somersaults and brought my big straw toy over and set it down by them, in case they needed a break and wanted to play with it. They said I was a silly cat but I guess I helped 'em out 'cause they laughed at me and gave me a good petting before they left.

I was friendlier than Sampson was!

Mommy's petsitting her dad's two birds while he's away. Ohboydotheylooktasty. She brought them home with her last night, ohboydotheylooktasty, but she says she forgot what a "demon spawn" I am (whatever that is!) and now she regrets it. I saw their cage on the counter and I jumped right up and started scaling the bars (ohboydotheylooktasty) while Mommy was getting the rest of their stuff out of the car and when she came back in she got reeeeaalll upset. She told me I can't eat the birds and birds are not for eating. Psh, what does she know? So I ignored her and kept climbing the cage until she put the birds in another room and shut the door so I couldn't get in. So now I can't eat the birds 'cause I can't figure out how to open the door. All I want is a little taste, anyway. Then I PROMISE I'll leave them alone.

Hello, fishie!

Mommy says she bought me a fish. She went to the store and got a five-gallon fish tank and she put a pretty fish in there. Mommy says she bought it for me because I always like to play with the fish in her big tank, so she gave me this one to watch since I'm too small to reach the big tank (unless she holds me up, which she doesn't do anymore 'cause I'll sit there and be entertained for hours, and she says she has things to do - like anything is more important than me!) So now I have my very own fish, but I can't go fishing like I do in the big tank, 'cause the cover totally covers up the top. Can you believe that?!

What fun are fish if you can't try and eat 'em?
