We took Vlad and his littermate sister Drusilla in on Saturday the 14th in front of a grocery store. The woman didn't want to put them out for adoption on Friday because the entire litter was black.

Almost two months of love and little Vlad started getting "gummy" eyes. We washed his eyes frequently and checked his temp. When his eyes became swollen and gummed we took him to the vet. A shot of antibiotics, eye drops and liquid antibiotics and we brought him home.

We expected he would bounce back the next day but he didn't. I kept him close, on my lap under a fleece blanket or next to me under the covers to keep him warm and comforted. When he stopped eating yesterday we called the vet.

We took Vlad to the vet today and had to make the difficult decision to try and keep him going with lots of tests, different antibiotics and the lose of his eye with little hope for a cat weighing less than 3 pounds.

Vlad passed over today, purring softly as I talked with him and let him go.

For such a short time, he was very loved and will be missed. His sister is now on my lap and quiet after looking for him.
