Arrival Story: A kid living down stairs from us, gave him to me. He said he found him running under cars in Manhattan, NY. We lived in New Jersey then.
I tried to find him a home for at least 12 hours before I decided to keep him. He is great. I was meant to have him. He is enchanting.
He kicks my husband out of bed with just one claw gently poking his back. I don't think he meant to kick him out of bed, he just needed more room. He is happiest when we are watching TV with him in bed.
Bio: Ashley won his battle from CRF/IBD on August 8th, 2008. He won because he was freed from it by his loving parents. A beautiful poem written for him by his Sweet Baby-G:
He Is Free
There is a sparkle in the sky
shining brighter than the rest
A spirit has risen
And passed the test
A tired old man
Who was destined for love
Surely it was sent
From someone above
He knew it then
He was finally complete
With his love at his side
They accomplished the feat
But he soon got tired
And weaker each day
They all rallied around him
And purred their say
No more pressure
No more pain
His keepers released him
But his body remained
Fly free, fly free
Chasing his dream
Of butterflies and rainbows
And rivers of cream
His spirit is free
His heart alive
His soul it shimmers
Up in the sky
He is our Ashley
He is my love
And forever he shines
from heaven above.

To my Celtic friends and opend minded Catster buddies of various spiritual beliefs, who are getting ready for Oct. 31st. As we get ready to celebrate this holiday with our beloved and missed angels I wanted to share this Norse inspired poem.
In mom's spiritual beliefs (Norse/Celtic) she knows this poem will sound familiar by all beloved Catsters no matter what faith.
According to Norse Legend, the sacred Rainbow Bridge called Bifrost connects Midgard (the realm of humankind) with Asgard (the realm of the Gods). Also known as Asabru ("Bridge of Gods"), Bifrost was magically constructed from fire, water and air...whose quivering and changing hues it has retained. Not only do the Gods use this Bridge to travel to and from the Earth, it also leads to the Urdar Well, situated at the foot of the great ash Yggdrasil, where they assemble daily in council.
Of all the Gods only Thor, God of Thunder, never passes over the Bridge for fear it might be demolished by his heavy tread and lightning bolts. The Watchman God Heimdall stands guard over over Bifrost night and day. Armed with a trenchant sword, he carries a trumpet called Giallar-horn, upon which he generally blows a soft note to announce the coming or going of the Gods. However, Heimdell is destined to sound a terrible trump at the dawn of Ragnarok...the time the Frost Giants will unite with Surtr to destroy the world. During Ragnarok...the end of the cosmos...it is said that Bifrost, the Rainbow Bridge, will collapse and shatter beneath the weight of the monsters
The following poem is inspired by this Norse Legend
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

(lady Brenda) Who misses her bubby soooooooooo much. Hims picture will be on my alter again with Feldy.
OK, I know mom hasn't been doing entries or hobnobbing with Catsters of late. There has been many reasons. Mom is going mad. Mad at people who dump kitties on Farms thinking the farm will take care of them. It is the most harsh life for any cat or dog. It is the equivalent of throwing a toddler in the woods and saying good luck! Mom is mad she has to go through this because of weak, ignorant humans. Mom has been establishing a cat colony. Total so far. 18. Yup. But that is including the resident cats whom you see on here.
!. Mom was very sick. The medicine she was on made her vision very blurred. She is coming off of that now. Mom is happy the sun doesn't hurt her eyes. The same with the CRT.
2. Mom found some barn kittens and there was one left behind. See my Sweet Baby-G's Diary entry about that. It was featured on DDP. It made mom's blurred eyes leak. Good story my Sweet Baby-G.
3. Snicklefritz had three kittens. Shame on her. She jumped out of mom's arm's and ran into a bush and didn't come back until two days later. Mom noticed she wouldn't go into heat. Then she gets the Spay Today Certificate when mom could feel the babies in her belly. She tried.
4. Mom was very depressed over losing Feldspar. Hims was like me in miniature. Hims was my minime. It was like this kitten opened her soul and hims bonded like cement and then he left like a snowflake on a sunny August day. He is with me but mom still (being an ex vet tech) hard on herself. Mom wishes people would spay and neuter.
5. Mom now has Feldy's sibling and hers is presenting the same symptoms that made Feldy come to the bridge. She is scared for the little girl who looks like Feldy. Her name is Moon Shadow. There is one more loose on the farm. At this point mom wonders if she should even try to capture it. That is hard in itself.
Those are her excuses. We are getting rosettes but we don't thank you right away or reply, please understand things are hectic and mom's stress level is low and it will make her sick if she doesn't take care of herself. She had to let you all know.
She says she will post Feldy's picture but it is so hard to look at them.
I didn't think this day or the evening before was going to be so hard.
Let me explain a little to our friends.
We did a major move. We have been off for a while or just briefly on Bellz page. We still have yet to unpack everything.
I can not tell you were I live exactly but it is beautiful and I feel like I hit the lottery. Even though I didn't I could have not been more blessed. I have been sick on and off and when I get the feeling to do something I do it to hard thus I make myself sick again.
Thanks to a few Catsters for their support and great sense of humor to help me through the past few months!!
The main thing too is I got a gift for Ashley.
One day while donating litter to the local animal shelter a grey kitten caught my eye. I found out she was sick. The next time I donated I saw her again and said hello and told her to get a home. Then I was told to look in the back. So many kittens. I wish people would adopt from the shelters more so then now. I don't want to go there but....I saw her. I grey diluted torte. WITH EXTRA TOES LIKE ASHLEY"S BABY-G! I smiled and giggled. I asked about her and didn't realize what I was doing until I was told she was a year old. Hmmmmmmmmm. So the next thing I am doing is signing a check.
It looks like Ashley and Baby-G' love child. lol. I said to Ashley. Here is your one year anniversary present. A life. LIFE. ; )
Thank you Baby-G's mom for the big PAWCAGE!! I put the memorial stake in the fairie cats garden. I have lots of pictures to take but my house is still a mess.
Thank you all for your kind words and gifties.
Hope to be back in full swing soon! I have an Idea..............
