Arrival Story:
The night before Mommy took me home, it was very cold outside. I couldn't remember how long it had been since I had been inside a warm house or eaten a good meal. I was so hungry and so cold. I was too weak to jump anymore. I could no longer hunt. I curled up as small as I could behind some bushes to try to stay warm and sleep. I looked up one last time and saw the full moon. I knew that I was named after the moon goddess, so I prayed that her love and healing would be with me tonight. But as I fell into sleep, I saw the rainbow bridge appear before me. I felt warm again, warmer than I had been in such a long time. I heard the kindest voice you can imagine, and I knew I was in Heaven. Not even a year old yet, and my time had come. But the voice said, "Rhea, it's not time yet. When you wake up, you will see an opened door in front of you. Go inside and wait.
A moment later, I was awake. I hurt everywhere, especially my ears, but I wasn't quite so cold as I was before. Sure enough, the door to the apartment building behind the bushes was propped open. I was so weak, but I managed up the last of my strength and went inside. I waited. Hours passed. I waited still, patiently.
Finally, a door opened inside the building. A young woman came out into the hallway. She was carying a lot of boxes, and she didn't see me right away. I had seen this woman before. She, like most people I met, thought that a kitty as beautiful as me must belong to someone. I waited as she locked the door and struggled to pick up the heavy boxes again. She was moving away. This was my only chance. I sat up as straight as I could and let out the tiniest, sweetest, "Meow". She turned and finally saw me. I gazed at her with my big, bright blue eyes. The woman put down her boxes and approached me. When she picked me up, she gasped! I had grown so thin, she could feel every bone in my body!
The woman took me home and fed me. She took me to the vet and, the vet made my ears feel better. In less than I week, I put on weight and grew into a very happy and healthy kitty. I love my new mommy and my brothers and sister.
Bio:
I can't remember who my first owners were, or if I even had any. I love my new family so much, and I have never once tried to get outside since Mommy brought me home. My vet, Doctor G., has pronounced me a healthy kitty, other than a bad ear infection which is easily treatable. Mom had me tested for everything. I got my shots, and medicine for the ear infection. I will also be spayed soom. I scratched my brother Winston when I first met him because he barked at me. I didn't know that he just wanted to play. Now he is kind of scared of me. I feel bad about that, but I'm sure we'll get to be friends soon. Maury and Amber are already my friends.
