Arrival Story: She was a feral cat and we had a poodle named Francois Beavious (the breeder named him not us! He was 3 1/2 when we bought him for $300 from Poodle Rescue from a breeder whom we MUCH LATER found out from other breeders had been ordered by a court judge to sell all dogs and cats they were breeding because they had over 75 of them in a 3 bedroom house)! Every time he saw Marbalet Kitty Supreme, who was a feral cat, he would hyper-ventilate. We spent a fortune on Vet bills, we thought our poodle had asthma or something, and found out he was pitching a fit to have Marbalet Kitty Supreme indoors to be his girlfriend. He HATED other dogs and, after over 2 years, Marbalet Kitty Supreme, finally ate a few times the food we had been leaving for her on our back porch. Prior to that, she was killing and eating water moccasion snakes, etc and the apartment manager was FURIOUS when I finally tricked her into our house after she had lost her kittens-one of her male daddy cats (a white cat, also feral) had eaten the baby kittens!!! She was so weak, I got torn up bloody arms putting warm compresses on her tummy as her breast milk had matistisized (that is what the Vet called it) and they were so hard-she ran away on us several times. Finally caught her, again, and put her in a cage we had bought, took her to a Vet, and got her shots, etc and got her neutered.
In the middle of this, we had a hideous nextdoor neighbor who threw rocks at the kids cutting behind our apartments to go to the apartment complex pool. This same lady also had taken her dog to the same Vet we took our poodle to and tried to get them to remove his vocal cords because she was getting complaints about him barking-she would put him off in the back deck of her apartment and not feed or water him and he would bark his head off, of course. It was most embarrasing for us living there, because when family & friends came over, our nasty neighbor would always be shreaking out the backdoor at kids, cats, dogs, and yelling about how horrible the USA was and how wonderful Venezuala was. Anyways, she went off on me, when I was walking our poodle and told me that she saw I was leaving food out for the cat we had been having in our home. She bragged at how she was poisoning the cats and that is why they were dead in the area and that she was going to kill our cat, too! This really panicked me, and we kept a good eye on keeping Marbalet Kitty Supreme indoors.
Then, one day, we had guests over, and they opened our back door, off ran Marbalet Kitty Supreme, outdoors-we searched far and wide for her and she wouldn't come back. We did lots of crying and worrying, especially after our hateful neighbor who had threatened to poison our cat. The Animal Control people and others said nothing could be done about our neighbor, since we had no proof she was the reason there were dead cats around the complex, they mostly said that was what happened to people who let their cats outdoors-indicating to us that the cats were getting hit by cars.
Finally, we found Marbalet Kitty Supreme and the white male feral cat had chomped on her head and left an ugly bloody gash on her little forehead and he had beat her up in a bad fight and forced himself on her, too, shortly after her neuter surgery. It took several more times to get her into our home, but, that was 1995, when she finally became indoors. We NEVER let her outdoors, never cut her finger nails and now she no longer wants to go outdoors as much as she used to.
Our poodle loved her and when he went blind she would lead him to his water and food dish and NEVER bothered either of his dishes. Up until the time our poodle died of a heart attack March 15, 2000, Marbalet Kitty Supreme, was his best GIRL!
She is still our precious girl and we hope she will be with us 4ever! :O)

Bio: She will always be with us and doesn't want to be adopted out, but, loves cyber friends! :O)

his clever Halloween cake recipe, that frightfully resembles a well used kitty litter box, was given to us by Kellie Head, the fabulous editor of ParentingHumor.com, a must visit site for all parents.
Despite the cake's appearance, it's really delicious. For the proper presentation, use a brand new (and definitely unused) plastic cat litter box and spoon it onto plates with a new (NEVER used) pooper scooper.
1 spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 white cake mix
2 large pkg vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared (I like Bird'sĀ® dessert mix)
1 large pkg vanilla sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small Tootsie RollsĀ®
1 new kitty litter pan
1 new plastic kitty litter pan liner
1 new pooper scooper
halloween recipes
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).
Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.
Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix until completely colored.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. Important: mix in just enough of the pudding to moisten it. You don't want it too soggy. Combine gently.
Line a new, clean kitty litter box. Put the cake/pudding/cookie mixture into the litter box.
Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls bury them in the mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly on top of everything -- this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.
Heat 3 Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake; sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Spread remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top; take one and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around for a truly disgusting effect!
Further notes: I had a reader write in saying this recipe only needed half the amount of pudding. I personally liked the cake with the amount given in this recipe. But feel free to use this as a loose guideline, use more or less as you see the need. Also, since the layer of cookies (with the chloropyll green specks, covers the top, you could really use any flavor or flavors or cakes underneath. Last but not least, you can also opt not to crumble the cakes, but rather layer them in the pan with the layers of pudding in between (much like you would layer a trifle into a trifle dish), sprinkle the top layer of pudding with a heavy layer of crumbled cookies. Same effect, different texture entirely to the dessert.
