Arrival Story:
My mom found me at the local shelter when she was researching to get a new cat. She said she couldn't stop thinkin' about me when she got home, so as soon as she could, she came back for a visit. I guess I was pretty charming. They let me out of the kennel to visit with my soon-to-be new mom and I charmed the pants off of her with my slightly-crossed baby-blue eyes, I could tell a home with her would be great! The shelter approved her to take me home and so I went! Boy do I hate car-rides though!! I couldn't stand the cardboard carrier they took me home in and I scratched and scratched until I made a hole in it and got out into the backseat of the car! I was much more comfortable on the floor anyway. So she brought me home and since then, I've run the house pretty well! I'm so glad she picked me!!! Um, Mom, are we done typing this yet? Is it dinnertime yet???

My first trip to the vet was awful they stuck me with a bunch of needles and tagged me with a homing device of some kind. My mom is happy about it though cuz she thinks I'd actually runaway from home if I got outta here. (I'm from the streets.) The Vet thought maybe I was purebred, I don't remember much from those days though, only when they picked me up and put me in that shelter cage.

The morning of my first trip was horrid. Mom and dad wrestled me down and squirted some awful tasting sticky stuff into my mouth. I started to feel woozie and sick from the horrible cherry flavor. I cried in the car all the way to the airport! How could mommy do that to me?!? Once we got to the airport, I stopped crying because there was so much to look at. Being an avid window-watcher, I was hypnotized by all the people going by and the suitcases (I love to sit on suitcases and in suitcases). When it came time to go through security, the TSA lady asked Mom to pick me up like a baby and walk through the metal detector. I didn't want to get out of my bag at that point, but somehow Mom managed to pull me out of my bag and we walked through with me clutching her shoulder like a scared monkey. Another very nice TSA guy helped Mom get me back in my carrier and we waited to board Alaska Air.

My first plane trip went really smoothly. I was kinda out of it the whole way, so mom said she was proud of me for being so quiet on the airplane. It was a little noisy with the jet engine noise and the babies on the plane all crying, but mom and I got to Seattle in one piece and none the worse for wear.

After we arrived and Mom got home to her parents' house, I was let to roam in her bedroom which is my safety zone. The two other cats and dog of the house can't reach me there and I practically live under the bed. I have now graduated to the rest of the house. I don't mind investigating when mom is home, but not if she's away from here. Christmas in Seattle so far is really fun!

Yesterday, my mom and dad took me on a car ride. Little did I know that I would end up getting stuck with a needle! Not once but TWICE!! I was freaked out in the car on the way there, howling and panting, but then being there wasn't so bad. I heard all these dogs barking behind closed doors and not a cat in sight! Then the doctor came...he sort of examined me, took my temperature (YIPES!!) and then he stuck me! How could mommy let him do that???!!! But then it was over so fast. Phewy, back in the scary car and home again... All day I felt sluggish and thirsty and I slept the whole night through under the blanket on mom's bed -- unusual for me who prefers not to get kicked in my sleep.

This morning there are about 6 catnaps on my daily agenda so I better get to it....

I have to send a MEOW out to my dear friend Miss Hayley on She's in a very happy place now with her brother Bandit over the rainbow.xxoo

Yesterday was pretty crazy at my house. I've never seen so many big, loud people in my house before! My dad was having a poker party and boy did they get crazy! I just curled up on mom's bed and laid low for the whole day.

Anyway, the purpose of my entry today is ask for prayers and good whiskers for my canine friend, Miss Hayley on She's currently undergoing treatment for a bad form of pneumonia and is on a ventilator. She just lost her brother, Bandit, a couple weeks ago and her mom doesn't want Hayley to be taken too. So, please keep this sweet doggie on your mind this week and send some well-wishes.
