Here are 7 fascinating things about me.....

1. I like to sleep between mom and dad every night - once dads sound asleep I usually "spoon" with mom, sleeping right against her belly and I put my head on her shoulder or in her armpit.

2.I love water! I ask for baths by sitting in the tub and meowing until mom comes in and turns the water on for me.

3. I usually sleep on my back... all spread out

4. My favorite toy is a small mouse attached to a rubber string and a small pole. I always bring it to whatever room I'm in. I love to attack the mouse by myself or chase it when mom runs around the house with it

5. I love to nap on moms side of the bed, right below her pillow, sometimes i will even find away under the covers.

6. I have a weird obsession with my dads boxers or his towels after he just showers. I love to roll around on them!

7. When mom gets out of the shower she will wrap herself in a towel and sit down and i love to rub myself all over her and then cuddle in her lap until she is all dry

a few days ago we were looking in the forums and came across this very sad
story about a sweet little orangie.
Her name is Penny
She was viciously attacked by a neighbor's dog.
She had a leg amputated but her devoted mom who is a college student was prepared to do everything to get the little girl well again.
( A lot of kitties were reassuring her that three legged kitties do just fine.)
Well sadly she did not make it.
Infection took over her little body and she is gone.

Mom saw that one of the kitties in one of our groups had picture and created Penny Day! This is a fantastic idea! We are participating!

mommas been home too much

Today is the second day in a row mom hasn't left at her usual time. Shes got ugly blisters on her face and tummy so i haven't gotten too close, i just lay near her. Yesterday she went to the dr because she didnt feel good and ended up at the hospital -- just to get iv fluids and an antibiodic and then she came home. Yesterday she only had one blister... now she has a bunch. Since moms home, me and Jewel cant be bad! Me and Jewel play fight sometimes and daddy says im a wimp because i usually run and hid before Jewel even touches me. I like to wait till Jewels not looking and then i smack her with my paw from behind, and then i run and hide. Last night we were laying together and I told Jewel it was ok to go on the dining room table. She didnt believe me at first but i finally convinced her when she realized mommy and daddy were half asleep watching tv. So she no sooner jumps up and mommy yelled at her, so she ran and hid under the bed. Mom must have heard the bell on her collar. Im sitting here all nice and quiet and Jewel just ran in here with her favorite mouse making all kinds of weird noises. Shes playing fetch with mommy now. I must get in on this play time too...

New Kitty Update

Well it's been about a month now and that little girl jewel is still here. The first two weeks I thought for sure that daddy was going to make mommy take her back to the adoption place. She has claws and i dont, and she kept hissing and swatting at me. I dont have claws, and am kind of a big mush so I have no idea how to defend myself. Plus, this one time, mommy was holding Jewel in Jewels room and i just poked my head in to see what they were up to and Jewel FLIPPED OUT! She jumped out of mommys arms and attacked mommys face! Jewel was digging her claws into mommys face and mommy was yelling and finally got her down and locked her in her room. Daddy was soooo mad at Jewel for hurting mommy like that. He kept saying he didn't trust her, and he didnt know if they ever could because she was constantly just snapping like that. When mommy and daddy were at work they would leave Jewel locked in her bedroom ( with food water and her own litterbox). But Jewel didnt like that and kept scratching up the rug. Then Jewel dug underneath the clear mat mommy put under the door and dug up the rug right to the floor board. Mommy and daddy are renting and are mad that they are going to get in a lot of trouble when they try to move out. Mommy had been reading lots of articles online on how to get us to like each other. They had been always holding one of us and letting the other sniff but we still hissed a lot. They then decided to alternate who was locked up while they were at work. I didnt really mind being locked in their bedroom because thats where they put my food and litter when there's company anyway. And i like to sleep on their bed. After 3 days mommy decided that while she got ready for work she would let us both out to see what would happen. We just sniffed each other and then Jewel went and found a mousey to play with so i just followed her around. Since then whenever one of our parents is home we are both out. When they go to bed or at work one of us still gets locked up ( Jewel still rips up the rug when shes the one locked up). Mommy said shes proud of how far we've come. We now take turns chasing each other and even can sleep on the big bed together. I did whack her in the face once when she got too close to my pillow. I always sleep on mommys body pillow she keeps at the bottom of the bed. Today Jewel was really nice although mommy didnt understand untill later. I was sleeping and started wheezing in my sleep and Jewel started licking me all over and I woke up and couldnt breathe i was Whining really loud and mommy got really scared but Daddy told her it was probably a hairball. They started petting me and I coughed a little and nothing came out but i could breathe again. Mommy gave me some Hairball medicine and i haven't coughed or wheezed since. Mommy thinks Jewel must have heard me wheezing and thats why she was nice and licking me. Well i think that spot next to Jewel on the bed looks pretty comfortable. I must go check it out! new kitty

So for a while now i keep hearing my mom and dad talking about getting a new kitty. They keep saying how maybe it would be good for me to have someone to play with, or at least tolerate while they are at work. Plus, mom has this thing about wanting a little girl cat since the people she adopted me from told her i was a girl (thankfully the vet realized i was a boy!!). Anyway, last saturday mom went to Petsmart and apparantly fell in love with a young girl cat named Jewel. She couldnt take her home that day because someone else had said they also wanted her, and saw her first, plus she had only been spayed that morning and was spayed while she was in heat so the adoption people wanted her to rest up and get the heat smell off her before she went to a furrever home. The adoption lady called mom on wednesday to tell her the other people who wanted Jewel never called her back so Jewel was mommys. Mom even went out and bought the new kitty stuff yesterday and set it up in the extra bedroom and keeps the door shut tight so i cant go in and get my scent on everything. Shes going to pick her up tonight i guess. I hate being shut out of the room. Mommy keeps seing me laying outside the bedroom door and keeps telling me that i have the whole apartment to run around in, that when jewel gets here i have to be nice and let her have her own space untill we get better aquainted. Mommy and daddy are being extra mushy to me, they can tell im a little upset about this new kitty talk. Aren't I good enough? well i guess MAYBE me and jewel could maybe play together, and maybe even cuddle if its cold. daddy always gets mad when i try to lay on his neck when hes sleeping but hes so warm! I guess for now i'll go back to napping on mommy and daddys bed. Mom says Jewel is going to have her own page on here too in a few days, so you will all be able to see her soon.

My first diary entry!

I really miss my mommy and i know my mommy misses me. Mommy left sunday night to fly to Long Island because her bestest friend, the friends fiance and the fiances dad were in a horrible car accident. The fiances dad passed away right away and mommys friend passed away today after being in a coma for a week. I want to cuddle with my mom so bad because i know she needs it but im so far away. And as if my mommy wasnt sad enough her dad (my grandpaw) is having lung surgery on friday. Mommy knows Daddys been taking good care of me. Daddys making sure im being extra good altho he hasnt been giving me treats and he calls me fatty sometimes... he should look in the mirror : ) Im hoping by the time mommy gets back she forgets about my silly halloween costume... or maybe she will get me something that doesnt have to go on my head... i hate things on my head... unless its a hand scratching and rubbing me. *stretch* i think ill go curl up in my hut now its getting late and chilly
