Wow! I'm FIVE!

Hi Everyone,

Today's my 5th birthday! WOW! I can't believe it, my mom can't believe it, and my adopted brother Timmy can't believe it, either! WOW!

Although I've made it to this milestone birthday (Timmy's 5 too, but he'll be 6 in a few months), everyone still thinks of me as teh baby. Well, I *AM* the baby!! I'm KING, too!

I'm hearing a rumor that my mom's going to take me to Petsmart to visit the fishies, the birdies, the homeless kitties, and to pick out snackies (a.k.a. candies), and a special can of fast food/junk food dinner, Fancy Feast! YAYAYAYAYAYAY! Timmy and I never get Fancy Feast - we get healthy ProPlan, Blue Buffalo, Wellness and Royal Canin. Sometimes it's fun to have something that just tastes good and isn't necessarily the best for us. I also think she's going to garnish it with fresh catnip (Timmy will be extra thrilled!)! Wow! So excited!

Now, the flip side of this will be my mom has to feed us earlier than usual because she's going to a "party." Our vets will be at this "party." Is this a code for a shot, or a thermometer up the tushie? I sure hope not. It's MY birthday and I'm NOT going to the vet's! (Note from Bailey's mom - Bailey, it's NOT a visit for you, it's a social event for people who donated to the humane society from where Timmy came from. No kitties allowed except for the ones who live at the home the party's at.) Hence the early dinner. My mom better not smell like the vets or the humane society! (Don't worry I won't).

Anyway, even though they're not reading this, I'd like to extend a very happy birthday to my biological brothers adn sisters, and my good friend Rider, who is 3 years younger than me and my birthday twin.

Hugs and purrs,

Barfing's Bad

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say that throwing up, barfing, puking, vomiting, whatever you want to call it, is YUCKY! I had the barfs for almost 24 hours for no apparent reason! My mom took me to the vet's before it was 24 hours, they gave me an x-ray to make sure I didn't eat anything that wasn't food, saw that I hadn't, and then they gave me two shots - one was Pepcid for my stomach acid, and the other was an anti-throwup medicine. My tummy felt much better after, and Timmy and I had to eat bland prescription food for a few days. We'll eat the wet food tonight again, but tomorrow, Mom says we'll be able to eat our wet ProPlan again! Yay! Can't wait! We're sick of eating the same thing day after day even though it'll have been 4 days.

My mom rearranged the living room and Timmy and I helped! She moved a 200+ pound couch (sleep sofa) from one end of the room to another without any human help -- us cats sat on it while she did it! She told us she didn't want another 22 pounds of additional weight but we felt it necessary to be there :) She also moved several chairs and tables! The room looks and feels totally different! We love it!

Hugs and Purrs,

Bailey Boy

We just had some super strong storms come through for about 3 hours. All that time, my mom has been sitting in the window watching the lightning and listening to the thunder. She LOVES them! It was supposed to be bedtime, which is also my snuggle and lovin' time, but nooooooooo. Why do the storms intrigue my mom so? I was frightened and drooled all over my dolly, my gray mousie, which I had brought to bed. Mom got into bed and felt so bad about not being there (even though she was like 5 feet away in the window!) that I got extra snuggles :) Still, I don't like thunderstorms. Timmy was brave and slept in his chair downstairs (he doesn't like to sleep with people).

That's all for now, just wanted to vent.

Purrs and snuggles,

In Memory of Dr. Engelhardt

Hi Everyone,

Extra super sad news. Our favorite vet, Dr. Mark Engelhardt, passed away this past Sunday. We are very, very, very, very sad. He was only 40 years old -- nearly 6 years older than Mom. We know he has gone to the Rainbow Bridge, and many greatful pets are welcoming him. He was a wonderful doctor and a great man. We will miss him very much (though I won't miss him sneakily sticking a thermometer in my tushie and then calling me "Sport," or "Buddy!" Well... I will miss the nicknames and how nice and gentle he was when he wasn't putting things in my tushie, and I will never forget how he found the right drug to cure my upper respiratory infection when I was a kitten.

We love you, Dr. Engelhardt.

Fun Stuff!

Hi Everyone,

I hope your Thanksgiving was great! We had a very quiet one, but it was still nice. I also celebrated my being here for 3 years! Wow! I still look, feel, and act like a kitten :)

Timmy and I have been on a "Family First" campaign. We love our family so much, and are so thankful (goes with the season) to have our loving people and each other. My mom wasn't feeling well today and, well, threw up... Timmy and I were very concerned, and I kept checking on her and sleeping with her to make sure she was okay. After a long while, it was suppertime, and my mom was still asleep in bed. I worried a lot. She was supposed to go to a birthday get together and couldn't make it. When I heard her get up, I ran to her and gave her lots of lovins, but didn't want to overwhelm or crowd her. I didn't ask for pickies because I didn't want her feeling barfy again :( I'm snuggling with her now and she feels better.

So my mom found some neato movies online made just for kitties! They showcase gerbils, hamsters, mice, birdies, fishies, and butterflies! We watched them from Youtube; they're in 10 minute increments -- we watched 2 movies :) They were GREAT! Timmy thought he could get at the creatures and beat them up, but I knew they weren't accessible because they're on the computer. Tim's not that technologically inclined, otherwise he'd know. I on the other hand, enjoy technology :)

That's about it for now.

Hugs and purrs,

Bailey Boy

I was the Diary of the Day!

I've never been Diary of the Day!! What an honor!

Thank you everyone for writing, keep those friend requests, rosettes, and presents coming (note from Bailey's mom: BAILEY! That's selfish! Knock it off, you are NOT the center of the world, as you think you are here at home! Other kitties are just as deserving, and we don't ask for presents, people give when you deserve them!).

Okay... *sigh* well, keep those friend requests coming, one can never have too many friends :)

Anyway, we had an exciting day today, I had to write and let everyone know. Our friends, the turkey family, came to visit today! YAYAYAYAY! Timmy and I love to watch them! They are: Dad, Mom, and 5 babies! The babies are growing so fast, and Mom and Dad have been teaching them flying techniques, including a new one today -- landing on our family room roof! They land with thuds :) They're sooooooooo fun to watch!

My mom also brought some lobsters home. Unfortunately, they were not alive, so we couldn't play wiht them, so they were no fun. Mom let us taste them, but we weren't really that interested. We were, however, very interested in the 2 bags and 1 canister of kitty treats (we call them candies)... yum :)

So that was our exciting day!

Hugs and purrs,

Hi Everyone!

Wow, I haven't written in over a year! I had a great third birthday (but no presents, I have *too many* toys) with a nice dinner and lots of kitty candies (kitty treats) for both me and Timmy. Basically not too much has changed from last year; Timmy's written more in his blog than I have, and most everything that he experienced, I experienced, too. Been extra loving, get lots of snuggles and kisses (I still smell like kisses all the time), basic Baileylicious cuteness :). In less than a week, we'll celebrate Timmy's living here for 3 years! Yay for Timmy!!! :)

Well, that's all from here, I want to go back to my little brown bed and sleep until bedtime :)

Hugs and purrs,

Bailey Boy

I Smell Like Kisses!

Hi everyone!

Mom's been so busy with work and life that she hasn't had a chance to update our diaries. I think she's only going to write mine for now though, and Timmy's at another point.

I get kissed so much (and of course I DEMAND them) that I smell like kisses :) It's not a bad thing, and I love to get kisses :)

Hmmm... what's new? Well, last month I was having trouble peeing, and my mom immediately brought me to the vet. It was determined that I didn't have a UTI, but rather, a very mild case of cystitis, which is inflammation of the bladder. I was treated with an anti-inflammatant, and now have to have some wet food every day. I love that part!!!!! We also put our Drinkwell fountain back in service, and Mom bought us a CatIT fountain! It's the neatest! Timmy loves it a lot :) It's a dome that water rides over. It's very cool, but I was a little afraid of it at first. Now, I drink from it all the time, and it has to be filled very frequently because we're keeping hydrated :)

That's what's new from here :)

Hugs and kisses,

Bailey Boy

It's been a long time!

Hi Everyone,

My mom's been super busy with work and playing with Timmy and me, that she hasn't had time to go onto Catster and update our pages!

We've had a lot of excitement these past few months. Mom celebrated having Timmy for a full year on August 11, and we celebrated having me for one year on October 6!!!

We also had a houseguest -- a mouse got into our Firevision! Timmy spotted it and got very excited! This happened during Columbus Day weekend. We don't know how the mouse got into the chimney, it has a cap on it so only smoke can exit. The chimney sweep man couldn't figure it out, either! So the gray mousie lived in our Firevision from Saturday until Monday night, and Timmy and I watched it, and Mousie watched us. Mom tried to catch it, but it jumped into the firewool to sleep. She also fed the mouse and gave it water, and on Monday night after work, she came home with a special clear plastic trap. Mom put a piece of a tortilla chip covered with peanut butter on it, and when it went into the trap, Timmy got excited and told Mom! So then, Mom put us in the family room and closed the door, and she let the mousie free outside. We were disappointed that it wasn't living with us anymore, but we understand it needed to be with it's family.

I went to the vet for my annual checkup. The doctor gave me medicine for my acne but like Stridex, it makes it worse so Mom stopped giving it to me. I weigh 12 pounds now, same as Timmy! Yay!

My mom got here super long hair cut off today... it has halfway down her back and now it's to her shoulders. It looks very different! She likes it a lot. Timmy kept smelling her and I kept wanting to snuggle (as usual) :)

That's it from here!

Bailey Boy :)
