Arrival Story:
I adopted him as a kitten from a litter in my friend's house. Of his five siblings, he was the only one who was not afraid to be held and to play, and he radiated a sense of calm from the first time I picked him up.

He is most willing to share his owner and surrogate mother with a kind (and cat loving) Jewish man.

When Sarel died, I had the whole house to myself again, and Mommy kept telling me that her stomach was getting bigger because there was a baby growing inside.

I enjoyed having the house to myself.

When Mommy came home with the human kitten, Raphaela, she seemed to always need attention and to be fed, and I got quite annoyed that I was getting much less than before. At first, I would try to talk very loudly to wake the baby, and would also wait until the worst possible moment - usually when Raphaela was breast feeding - to need to go outside. Of course only Mommy can let me outside and it has to be done right NOW.

Lately I have gotten used to the new baby, I come and sit next to her until she starts crying. She isn't that smelly and I suppose I am thankful that now there is a new human kitten in our house.

Where is Sarel?

OK, this doesn't make any sense. For the last two days I have not seen Sarel outside in the garden, and when we usually go inside to have lunch he has not come with me. I started to notice that something was strange yesterday, and went into all the bushes and called out his name, but he did not come. And when I went back into the house, the first thing I did was call his name and look for him.

I will admit that I enjoy spending time with Mom without being interrupted, but there is something strange going on.

Changes in the House

We had quite a scare this week, Mom thought that we would have to move, because of planned construction in the space right underneath our apartment.

Mom did not want us to get run over by bull dozers, and she did not think that all that noise and dust would be good for the upcoming addition to our house. That's right, soon Sarel and I will be older brothers to a human baby, who is meant to be born G-d Willing in September.

Mom's stomach is not that large, even for Week 28, but when I sit on her stomach and purr, that baby inside kicks me back. I think we are going to be great friends.
