Arrival Story:
Found him in the parking lot of Delyte W. Morris Library, hence his name. His life was uneventful until summer 2005, when he became extremely ill with a huge growth in his intestines. I persuaded the vet to remove the growth and stitch everything back together, but she did not think he would survive. The growth was not cancerous, and he began to recover, although there was a long period of force feeding which we both hate to remember. He had just started to be really well when he escaped into the woods behind my trailer, and was gone for six days. The vet insisted that he would die after three days because his stitched-up gut needed constant food. On the sixth day he came up to the porch and was coaxed in, and he was SO happy to be inside that it changed his whole personality. He is much more loving now, even though he hates sharing me with Stella, the kitten I rescued in June 2006.

Bio:
Delyte had a new checkup and the vet said there was no sign of regrowth of his tumor. It's obvious from looking at him that his digestive system is not having any trouble with food, but the vet was so happy that he was doing so well that she didn't even yell at him for being a borderline fat cat.
