Arrival Story:
We found her Friday night on our patio (which is 5+ft off the ground and enclosed). She currently has an upper resp and eye infections and defecation slowness. She has been to the vet and the emergency clinic, and hopefully she defecates soon! The reason for "E"; we have not come up with a name for her yet, so at the vets office, she is animal # E in our file :-). 10-1-06: As you can see, she has been named :-). Health wise she has been defecating more frequently. One of her eyes ruptured due to infection, the other has receded. Her doctors are in question whether she is blind or not. In her 1st 6 full days of being with us, she made 6 trips to the vet! I think she is doing better, though not out of the woods yet. She is getting active and is a purr ball. Will keep you informed. 10/2 - Vet visit 7 - clean bill of health, though eye being monitored. 15oz and teething! Vet said doing a good job.

Update 2

Hi all. Mom and Dad want you to know they will be updating my pictures tonight, as well as putting up a page for Hades, who says it's about time! They will also be adding a page for my Momma, as she and her newest litter of kittens were caught last week and are currently being fostered in our basement. She is nursing well and the little ones are gaining weight. They will probably be available for adoption in a few weeks. We will keep you posted.

Thanks to all for your kind messages and rosettes and stars.

Purrs and nips,

Siren

PS: I am healthy and happy despite my early issues, thanks to Mom and Dad's care and my great vets (Iselin Vet. Hospital in Iselin, NJ).

Cat of the day!

Wow, thanks Catster for this honor. Of course, I think I'm always 'cat of the day', and Mommy and Daddy spoil me accordingly.
I thought I should update, since lots of people will be looking at my page today.

Lots of goings on. I am now six and a half months old, and weigh EIGHT pounds! My eye threatened to rupture again in January, and I was in a lot of pain. The vet decided this was the last strike, so I was spayed, and they removed my left eye. I had a rough time and didn't like the anesthesia, so I had to stay over a second night for observation, but I'm OK now. I love to play fetch and pounce on my toys, or my brother, Hades. He's cat number 5 in the household. He came in November, and gave me a nasty virus that made my tongue hurt so I didn't want to eat. It healed, but I still like to slobber a little when I give baths. Its ok though, having a friend was worth the trouble. We love to wrestle and sleep together. I loved having a buddy with me in my room. I was getting lonely. In December, we got our shots and got tested, then we got to come out of our room and explore the rest of the house. Mommy and Daddy tried to put up a gate to introduce us slowly. *giggle* We were too smart for them and figured out really quick how to get over that one! After three months in that one room, we were ready for some freedom!

I love being out and about. I like to sleep on Mommy's neck, or under Daddy's chin. If I'm quiet and calm about it, they are OK with it, but if I get too happy and start to purr and knead on them, they wake up and get cranky. I don't know why, but that's what happens. OK, time to go play!

Purrs and nips,

Siren

I got a friend!

Oh boy oh boy! This morning, mommy and daddy came in with a biiiig box. Something was moving inside, and it smelled like me, but different. I'd smelled this smell on mommy and daddy the last couple of days. I went over to investigate, and this black thing came scrambling up the side, and jumped out. Another cat, and small like me! Since I can't see, I came over and started to sniff him, reaching my paw out so that I could touch him too. He sniffed me too for a little bit, then he started to wander around and explore my room. I followed him, since I wasn't done finding out about him, but he was more interested in finding out where he was. I think he's a little smaller than me, so probably about 6wks old. I don't know yet if he's here to stay, or just visiting.

Purrs and nips,

Siren
