Arrival Story:
Ginger is in a happy family where she thinks she is queen bee, gets to eat all the food including the dogs, and is allowed to knock over our Christmas tree. Though some of that is NOT true Ginger really is a great cat and we are happy to have her. Ginger, a kitten with brown and black spots over her was born into the world on November 4, 2000, where she was treated unfairly. This cat was innocently crying for her mother and then later was taken to a pound or to be specific Countryside Pet Center located in Kinsman, Ohio. Day after day this kitten was kept in a pen waiting for a home. People would come by and the kitten would think that person would take her home so she would start purring in happiness, but, it turns out the person just walked right past her. Soon the kitten gave up, stopped purring when people came by and just layed down cuddled up as tight as possible to keep warm. Finally, it was time to put Ginger to sleep. Though the staff wanted to avoid it they knew it had to be done. So they filled up the shot, put the cat on the table and sadly gave her the shot. Well the shot MISSED the vein by about an inch! They soon had to refill the bottle hoping someone would just come in to buy her. The staff held the catdown again and were just about to give her the shot when one of the animal handlers came in and said ?Just forget it, we WILL find her a home.? Once the kitten finally got over the pain from the shot was back into her pen. Five minutes later we came in looking for a cat we went by her pen and heard this cat purring like crazy. We took her, when we found out what had happened just Five Minutes before we came we were shocked! How could such a cute, eager to please kitten have a hard time being adopted? We still wonder about that today when Ginger lays on our lap sleeping and purring away. Ginger is better known as the cat that was blessed.
