a long overdue update and a few thank yous..

Hello catster cats! This is Mr. B's momma here. First of all, I'd like to thank Mr. B's friends who gave him treats and zealies on his birthday (he says thanks guys!). In fact, they reminded me that it was his bday, since I hadn't looked at the calendar, and I usually celebrate his gotcha day (which was in April, 2003).
Anymews, I haven't been on this page at all lately becaue I'm now following all the fur baby bloggers on FACEBOOK (including catster's wall). I have fun reading about all the kitty antics and seeing fun pics and of course, learning new things!
As for the status of me getting another cat, I've still been tempted, (3x just recently) but have talked my self out of it. I think Mr. B. has sent his wishes loud and clear to the adoption fairy!
I was just watching cats 101 on Animal Planet and discovered a new breed that makes me wonder if Mr. B is (at least partially).. it's called javanese (I know there are some of you out here). I used to think he was part Maine Coon because of the long hair and tufts in his paws and ears, but he wasn't really big enough & didn't have as bushy a tail. Now that I see what a Javanese looks like (same features) and know its characteristics, I'm thinking that sounds like Mr. B (he "chirps" too)! So I'm very curious to know what breed he is, though it really doesn't matter.

Wow! I was Cat of the day today!! :)

I was so pleasantly surprised when momma told me the news, because she hasn't kept up with my page in a LONG time. So it was really great to be picked!! :) I'm going to celebrate by sitting on momma's lap all night long!

A belated Meowy Christmas and Happy New Year

Ok, so I know it's been awhile, but mom finally got around to letting me log on to wish you all a happy hollyday!
There hasn't been much new stuff this year. Mom is finally learning not to even attempt bringing me another kitty. She was very tempted though, there was a litter of babies brought in to where she works and there was one who was so afraid, just like me! She was going to take it home, and try again... one of her co-workers almost talked her into it by saying, "it doesn't matter what you want, it's what the cat wants, and this one obviously wants you!" - wow, talk about twisting your arm into something! However, the cat fairy heard my pleas and intervened... the family that was there to take one of the other babies, wanted to take that one too. She was hesitant because it was a little girl, and mom thought that might not be the best family for a scared little baby... my mom has experience with scaredy cats because of me! But she figured it would be in a good home, and probably better off than being around me, who would most likely scare the poor thing even more with my hisses, big size, etc. Keep your paws crossed though, because the momma cat still needs a new home too and momma told the lady that if no one else wanted her, she'd take her. So please pray that momma found a good home already!
Speaking of being a scaredy cat, my mom noticed that I'm getting braver in my old age!!! I don't run away as quickly from strangers, I'll stay and sniff them out first. I'm also not as afraid of water as I used to be... I'm even climbing into the big tub now! She doesn't know why I'm much braver, but she's glad! However, it worries her that I'm not as afraid of the garage door, because I used to run far away when I heard it, which kept me safe. Now she has to be careful to make sure I don't run out and get lost (I haven't been outside since I was rescued 6 years ago!)
Anymeows, I had a nice christmas (my mommy didn't leave me this year) and I hope you all did too! Hope you all have a happy, healthy, stress free New Year!

hello everyone.. long time no write...

My mom's been really busy lately, so she hasn't let me on my page in a while. She's letting me write now 'cause there's some news... She's finally getting the message, I think/hope, that I don't want any siblings... I'm purrrfectly happy having all her undivided attention! She bought home 3 itty bitty babies the other day.. they were abandoned by their mamma, poor things (she thinks something really bad must've happened to mamma)... they were left in one of her student's backyard, all by their lonesome to fend for themselves. She told me they were pretty smart though, because they were hiding under a lawn mower! Of course, one of them was gray, one gray and white stripes, and one black and she was REALLY tempted to keep one. I was nice to these guys becuase they were soooo tiny, I just couldn't be mean to them. I did hiss once, but that was really at mom, not the babies. I wanted her to know I was mad. Even though I felt bad for these little guys, I wanted to make it quite clear that she should NOT even think about keeping one!!! So she took them to a shelter the next day. She's sure they'll get adopted because a few of the students who saw her with them said they all wanted one... but they are still too young, so a foster mom is taking care of them until they're ready.
Then, the next day, Mom had that lady (dr.) come to MY house, to give me a shot!!! Like I didn't have enough stress with the kitties... sheesh!!! But it was a quick shot, and I got to lay on my favorite chair while she did it and I didn't have to smell that horrible office smell or hear loud dogs barking or scared kitties crying, so it was OK... I could take it... I was able to forgive mom for doing that!
Anyways, I had a tough week, but I'm OK, for now... at least until she brings another stray home!!!

Mommy's home! :) And without a sibling!!!!

Hi guys!!!! My mom's back (from a 7 day long trip) and I'm sooooooooo happy!! I ran to greet her when I heard her call me and just meowed and rubbed against her! I was even more grateful that she didn't bring home that other cat!!! It may be selfish of me, but I want some of her undivided attention again before I have to share her! She owes me big time, since I didn't have any for 7 days!!! I can't get my hopes up though, she says she might still get Tiger in Feb., if her sister brings Tiger to SC with her. Then she'll leave me alone AGAIN and go get Tiger in SC.
She told me how adorable & sweet Tiger is, and I think I might like her, but I'm not in any rush. I just wish she'd make up her mind and stop going back and forth like this, I'm sure it's driving everyone crazy (not just me)!
Well, keep checking my diary for updates.
I hope y'all had a very meowy xmas and got lots of goodies!!! I got a new toy and the lady who was taking care of me gave me a piece of special kittie chocolate!!! It was a really special, extra yummy treat!!! :)

hi guys! My mom's away right now, and I miss her terribly!!! And to make matters worse, a little birdie told me she's coming home from NY with a sister for me! Can you believe the nerve of her, after what we just went through with Cinder!? She's just a crazy lady I guess! I'm not sure how I'll react to this new kitty; in some ways I think I might be nicer cause she's a girl and she's really little. But on the other hand, mom's bringing her home after leaving me alone for 7 days!!!! That means she won't be able to give me the undivided attention I've been missing since she's been gone (and what she usually does when she comes home from a trip).
I'll post on a forum later to ask if any of you wiser dudes have any suggestions for us.
Hope Santa paws bought you all lots of yummy treats and toys! :)

Cinder's gone!! :)

I think mom finally realized that I don't want kitty company, just HER company! I am SOOOOO happy he's gone, that I'm back to my old self! Mommy's mad at me though, for not being nice to him, especially because he would've been her lap cat. I go sit on the patio or in the garage most of the time she's home, so she says she needed a cat for company (and try to convince herself that I was the one who wanted the company)!
She needs to understand that as long as I know she's home (I always go check to make sure she's there) I am a happy cat! :) She says she'll try again with a girl, maybe a younger one, but not until the summer. Maybe I'll be nicer to a girl? Even though I'm spayed, I am still a BOY afterall! ;)

Well, he's here!

His name is Cinder and he's as sweet as can be, he's not fighting with me or anything, but I'm having a hard time being nice to him. He made himself right at home, letting my mommy pet him and playing with my toys.... alright I never played with it before, but still...
My mommy keeps trying to pet me and tell me she loves me and all that, but I'm just not listening... I'm sooo mad at her for bringing this thing home! I don't think I like this guy very much...even when I hiss at him, he doesn't care! He just looks at me! Crazy cat!! :) I don't know what to do, since I think mom plans on keeping him here for at least a little while! I'll let you all know how things go! :)

Update on my adopted companion :)

Well, guys, as mommy is typing this, we are eagerly awaiting our new friend to arrive! Mom somehow decided on a gray foster cat (although she wanted to rescue a shelter cat). The HS said she could foster with the intent to adopt just to make sure we will get along before making it official! I'm a little nervous, I hope we will get along because the holidays are coming and mommy's going to visit family for a few days. She has a nice lady come check on me and stuff, but I could really use a playmate so I won't feel so lonely. Keep your paws crossed for us! :)

Good news, I just found out my breed!

Actually I'm a mixed breed, but it's still good to know! :) My mom has always wondered what I am, besides a gorgeous long haired boy and now she knows! She was looking to adopt a companion for me, and started looking into the MaineCoon breeds and thinks that's what I am (at least partially). She was reading about the CFA breed characteristics and I fit! I also fit the pesonality a little bit.
So anyways, mom was very excited about this and now she's gonna go to the bookstore and read more about me and how to take care of me better. Although, I really wish she'd just stay home with me ALL day for once! Yeah when she's here, she tries to spend time with me... but I usually don't want her fussing over me, and petting me and all that mushy stuff. I just like sitting right next to her and following her from room to room. You think she'd realize that I just want her company for a whole full day wouldn't you? But I think that's why she's looking to adopt a companion for me.. she knows I get lonely when she's gone. She's been researching the humane societies and the breed rescuers, adn even catster, to find just the right companion for me! Let's just hope that she gets somekitty that will understand that this is MY house, I'm the King of this castle, and whoever I let into it must be complacent and submissive to ME.. then we'll all live happily ever after!
So whenever she gets me a new friend, I'll let you all know about it..
