Arrival Story:
While driving through Evanston, IL, looking for some MS friends who were now going to Northwestern U., we found Tater. I yelled out, "That cat looks like Daisy," so Jerry and I pulled over. I petted Tater and set her back down. Then, a disembodied voice said, "You can have her if you want her." I figured out the voice was coming from someone's basement window! I responded, "I'll take it if it's a girl" (we had two other un-spayed homeless-rescued girls, Daisy and Sue). I picked Tater up, grunted and said "You sure are fat," figured out she WAS a girl, and we headed home with her.
Halfway back to Hyde Park, I noticed that Tater WAS fat, but fat in a weird way. Turns out she was pregnant, with four boys it turned out...Gomer, Nub, Goober, and one other we gave away as a kitten.
I watched Goober be born, much too early one work night on September 26, 1990. He's about to be Sweet 16!
