I like to have my back scratched just by my tail. I love to drink water. Mom says I drink more water than any cat she has ever seen. And I also LOVE vaseline... yum!

The cat tree or Mom and Dad's bed

Arrival Story:
I was dealing with avery difficult time in my life after a close family memeber had passed away, I was graduating college, finding a job...etc so my parents decided it might be a good idea for me to have my own kitten because I had always LOVED cats. When I went to the pet store this dirty, sniffley, mangey, little fluff was howling her head off in the cat cage. I fell head over heels as I picked her up out of the cage and she started purring for me.

Bio:
Summer was incredibley ill when I brought her home. She had an upper resp. infection, a stomach virus, and an abdominal hernia. She was malnourished, underweight, and the vet said she was taken from her mama to early. She also had behavioral problems - she wouldn't use a litter box, would chew/eat anything (she got a few severe stomach infections because of this), was very destructive, refused to clean herself... Having her for the few first months was exhausting and costly, but with the right medications, surgery, and a lot of TLC from her new mama (me) and the vet, and the help of the other cat in the house, Summer was a happy & healthy kitten by the time she was 6 mos old. Tabby (the other cat in the house) was only a year older than my little angel, but she was a great cat mommy! She took over cleaning Summer and, in a way only a cat would know, taught Summer to use to litter box. (Thank God!) Often, we caught Summer suckling from Tabby even though Tabby had no milk. Tabby seemed content to let Summer do this and Summer loved it. I think that extra nurturing from Tabby is what really helped Summer overcome many of her behavioral problems so quickly. Summer is still a small cat. Many times when she goes out, people mistake her for an 8-10 month old kitten. Her size is just another thing to love about her. One of the strangest things I have ever seen with Summer is her love of vaseline. She has a lot of trouble digesting hairballs and would leave them for me to clean up all the time. Someone mentioned to me about givng her a little vaseline to help them pass. I never thought Summer would go for it. Much to my surprise, she LOVES it. I keep a jar a vaseline on my dresser because I use it to remove makeup and moisturize my face, but Summer would grab the edge of the lid in her teeth and drag the whole jar away. And she would lick the jar lid for any residue. She would sit by the jar and cry for me to open it. It is so weird. When I talked to the vet he said it wouldn't hurt her so I figured why not let her have it. This has been going on for a few years now, and she still begs for vaseline almost daily. At least I don't have any hairballs to clean up anymore...

Summer's Diary

Gone but never forgotten

Summer left me on 10/19/12. One of the saddest days of my life. She was my baby. My first child, my best friend. I cried for weeks. It's been 15 months and I still cry. I miss her so. She was only 10 yrs old, but had had heart problems. What could I do... The vet and staff were so kind. I was right by her side when she left me. I can barely type this without crying...

And why exactly can't I pee on the carpet?

Mom's having a fit! The pee smell came back. Just when Meowmy thought she finally got it out of the carpet, it came back. When Tank lived here, he peed on the carpet all the time. Meowmy tried to keep it clean and the room closed off to the cats, but her stupid roommate always let us in andleft the door open. (She wasn't very bright...) Anywho, now I am peeing on the carpet. Mommy says I'm a bad girl when I pee on the carpet. :( I like my litter box, but I like the carpet too. Meowmy says that she is going to clean the carpet and move the couch over the spot so I can't even get to it. I say 'boo to that'!

Such a long time...

It has been over a year since we have seen Winter. When Daddy moved away he took Winter with him and we can't see him any more. Mommy misses him. Pants got out of the house and went missing. Mom found out a few weeks later that a neighbor had taken him in when he got out. Pants came back to visit and Mom was gonna keep him inside but all he did was claw at the door and cry to get out. Mom let him out and he ran right over to the neighbors house. They let him in and Mom has not seen him since. Mommy sometimes cries because she misses Pants and Winter. It's just me and Pepper in the house now. Mommy adores us, but I know she misses my brothers.
