Has it really been so long?

Has it really been so long since I last wrote in my diray? If I keep this pace up I will never be diary of the day! MOL! Well it is that time of year again when Mom starts dragging out boxes of decorations for different holidays. It has been really warm here so while Mom has been putting out the halloween decorations, I get to sit in my stroller and watch her in the yard. Its fun. Mom has discovered that I do not like being outside in the dark. I cry a lot and Mom has to constantly reassure me that she is right there. I'll stick to the daylight thank you very much. Mom has been busy cleaning the house. She says our house smells like cat. I beg her pardon, but I resent that remark. I do not smell like anything. I groom everyday. Maybe she should clean the litter box more often...

The Great Rescue!

Well what an adventure! Mum told me all about it last week and I thought I would share it with all my catster friends! Mum and Dad were driving home from work last week late at night and a little tiger kitten ran right out in front of them. Mum said it all happened so fast! The car whizzed right over the kitten and Mum pulled over to make sure that the kitten was ok. Thank goodness the kitten was so little that the car was able to pass over it without hurting it!!! When Mum and Dad got out of the car the little one ran into the woods. When Mum approached the trees and called to the kitty, 6 tiny kittens came running out mewing like mad! They were so tiny!!!!! Mum and Dad had some boxes in the car so they were able to catch 4 of them by hand. Mum caught a 5th kitten, but it scrathced and bit Mum's hands up really bad! This little kitten was really scared!!! Mum could hold him at all and he jumped out of her hands and took off into the woods. The last kitten took off too. Mum tried to lure them out with food, but they were no where to be found. Had it been daytime Mum probably could have gotten them but it was nearly midnight and these kittens were solid black. With no street lights, it was impossible to see them so Mum took the four she had and her and Dad took them home. Our house has a small enclosed back porch, so Mum got some food and water and a small pan of litter and put it out there. (It was warm out so the porch was also nice and warm.) When Mum let them out of the box, they were on that food like a pack of hungry wolves! They devoured two giant cans of cat food!!! It appeared that they were about 7 weeks old. They were all weaned, but they were really skinny. Mum figures someone dropped them off on the side of the road a day or two ago and just left them there... Mum was worried they would all have upset tummies because they were eating so much so fast, but they all were just starving! We have a big doggie bed that we never use so Dad put that on the floor with a soft blanket inside and all four of them curled up in a big fur pile and went to sleep. Mum was really surprised that there were no accidents on the floor - every kitten used the litter pan. They were kind of timid at first, but soon they warmed up to being petted and loved! The little orange kitten was so sweet - he just purred and purred and purred while you pet him. The shelters here are nearly full and Dad was afraid that they would have no place to go so he called the pet store where he bought me because they don't accept kittens from kitten mills, but only take unwanted kittens from local people. Sure enough they were running out of kittens and they said they would be happy to take them! Mom packed the kittens up in the large carrier and away they went. The nice lady at the pet store checked them over for obvious signs of illness and bugs and didn't see anything so they went into a large cage with two other kittens. Within the weekend the kittens were sold. I hope they have happy and wonderful lives in their new furever homes! You can see thier picture - its the second one from the top on my page.

Wow, was it warm today!!!! It was 78 degrees today! Mom says Pennsylvania is the only state where you can have piles of snow on the ground during a 78 degree day. She left some windows open when she left for work and it was so nice to just laze in the sill and watch the great outdoors. The breeze was so warm and it felt so nice ruffling my fur! Mom says if it is still light enough after she gets home from work, she is going to take one of us kitties on a stroll!!!! Oh, I do hope she picks me to go!!! Please Mom, PICK ME!!!! I would love to get some fresh air.

In other news - Mom gave me some Fancy Feast last night for dinner. I have never had that before and it was really yummy. Mom said I was a little piglet because I ate mine and finished Pepper's too. Hey, a kit's gotta eat!

I am off now to go nap in the stroller. Perhaps if Mom finds me there when she comes home she will see how cute I look and take me for the afternoon stroll.

Finally getting better

I am finally back to my old self. It was pretty bad for a few days. The vet said Dad brought me in just in time because my illness could have gotten much more serious! I'm through with this illness stuff. Blech! Mom keeps stuffing this icky medicine down my throat and I'm sick of that too! It tastes horrible. Pills and liquid and laxative jelly... *shudders* All of this lazing around... my poor fur is in bad shape. I have been grooming and grooming but i fear it will take me a few days to get it looking right again. My sister tried to take my position on the royal throne while I was not well, so I am off now to oust her and retake my place as king!!

What a week

Ugh. This week has been horrible. I've been so sick. The vet said I have gastro-intestinal-itis. What ever that is. I can't stop vomitting. It's so gross and you should just see my fur. It's in bad shape. I've been too tired to groom so I look terrible. Mom keeps shoving water and medicine down my throat and I'm sick of that too. I hate being sick. It stinks. Blah...

Just what does Mom think she is doing??

Ugh. Mom brought home another cat three weeks ago. What does she think she's doing?? I am the king fo this house! I did not give her permission to bring home another cat. This pesky 'other cat' is called by the name of "Pants". Mom coos and cuddles him. It's so gross. I tried smacking him around, but he doesn't seem to go away. I hissed and growled for a few days, but that didn't even bother him. (Not so bright, is he?) Mom says he came from... *looks arounds*... outside... Gasp! I KNOW. How could
Mom take in this ... beastly cat. Makes me shudder. No respectable cat would sleep outside in the dirt... I suppose it is ok for some cats but I am the king and kings lounge on warm, comfy beds and have dinner served to them on a regular schedule... Is that a piece of fuzz on my tail?!? I must go groom!

What a fun day!

Yesterday Mom stayed home from work! We had so much fun. I helped her do all the housework! When she was folding the laundry I laid in the basket of clean clothes and when she opend the windows in the house I ate the dead fly in the dining room window so she wouldn't have to clean it up. While Mom was cleaning the litter boxes I jumped right in and peed in the middle of her scooping so she wouldn't have to clean that clump out later. When the tree fell over in the dining room from the wind, I hid under it and every time Summer or Pepper would walk by I would jump out and pounce on them! This was so Summer and Pepper would stay away from it so Mom didn't have to worry about them bothering it. Later I laid on the bed while Mom put all the clean clothes away and I stayed there while she vacuumed the upstairs. Then while she was cleaning the bathroom I just had to have a sip from the sink faucet. After all the housework was done, Mom gave me some treats because she said I was a good kitty!! Finally after and exhausting day I curled up in my bed and slept the evening away.

My sister drives me crazy!

Yesterday Summer got all the attention! She has something wrong with her eye so Mom took her to the vet, gave her a bath, (not that I am envious of those two things), made up a special kitty bed by the warm radiator, gave her treats, and brushed her and hugged her all day. I didn't like this one bit! So I hissed at Summer and hid in the bedroom most of the day. Summer didn't seem to care too much and that made me even more mad. When I tried to beat up my sister, Mom got mad and sprayed me with water. It's so unfair! After a while Dad came in the bedroom and picked me up and put me on the bed. I figured he was going to yell at me, but he just hugged me and said that I had to be a good kitty and not hiss at my sister. Then he petted me a for a long time until I purred for him. Mom came in to see me too and she brought me treats! My favorite kind too. She hugged me a lot and told me how much she loved me. I felt a lot better afterwards. I won't hiss anymore, but my sister still drives me crazy!

Treats

A few weeks ago Mom put a lock on the cupboard where she keeps the treats because I know how to open the door pull them out when I want some. It's not fair! Mom only gives me three or four at a time. I like lots of them! She says too many are not good for me. Well this morning I wanted some treats but the lock was hooked and I couldn't get in. Mom and Dad were still sleeping so I figured I would help myself. I opened the cupboard door next to the one with the treats and I crawled the the other side and grabbed the goodie bag! Mom found out though and she told me I was too smart for my britches... whatever they are. I think she was a little mad at me for jumping on the counter, but those treats were soooooo good!

Outside!

Today mom is off from work. I'm so excited because she said she is going outside to decorate the house for Halloween. I'm really hoping Mom will put my harness and leash on me and let me play in the yard. Dad yells at her because he says I'm going to get fleas, but Mom's not worried. I wish I didn't have to wear the harness though. I would love to run free to chase bugs and birds, but Mom says I'm too curious for my own good and I would get into things that weren't good for me. Only tried to eat the spiders on the side of the house once, so I'm not sure what she is talking about.
