My Life as a Big Black Handsome Gentleman

Goofy foster brothers

It's been a while since I wrote. I've been busy avoiding my newest foster brothers - Bilbo, Vector and Droopy. I don't know why my foster mum insists on bringing riff raff home. Vector and Droopy are particularly goofy. Vector trips over his feet all the time, and Droopy keeps jumping all over me, thinking I'll play with him. He doesn't know that I have a reputation to keep up. I can't just run and jump all over him in front of the humans!

My foster sister Gabby is still here too - neither of us can believe that we haven't yet been adopted. Gabby's OK - I don't mind her. But I wish she wouldn't eat my food all the time - she knows that I don't eat hers!

My foster mum dressed me in a collar and tie the other day - I didn't mind that so much - at least gentlemen wear ties (as opposed to clown collars and hats). I think I look rather dapper in the tie - don't you?

New Toys!

Oh wow, mum has finally bought a pom-pom toy for me to chase! I can't believe she gave away my laser pointer to the people who adopted two of my foster buddies! She knows how much I love to chase that little red dot, even if it isn't real. At least now I have some pom-poms on string to play with. It's a pity that my foster sister Gabby has to jump all over me trying to get to the string as well. And to think that she grabs it with her mouth - she has no teeth! How does she think she can bite anything?

It's just Gabby and me now, waiting for homes. Most people are worried about my urinary tract condition, but actually I'm a really good boy and eat all my special food and don't try to eat Gabby's. I use my litter all the time, and haven't had any problems since I started on the special food. I just need someone who will feed me properly and love me like my foster mum does. It's only a matter of time now. With all of my new photos, I can't imagine that anyone can resist my handsome looks and gentlemanly behaviour.

December!

Well, it's December, and I knew my foster mum would make me wear some Christmas gear. I look like a clown - not a gentleman! I bet she's putting my clown-photo on Christmas cards too!

My foster sister Coral has been adopted, so now our numbers are dwindling, and I'm hoping someone will want me too. Frankly, I can't believe the riff raff that's been adopted out of this house before me.

Mum's friend Rita sent us a pile of new toys, so I have a new mouse-on-a-string to chase. I love that toy - I can catch it so easily, but for some reason, try as I might, I can't get the mouse-on-a-string to go under the bed with me. I'll work out a way some day.

In the meantime, I'll just enjoy watching the squirrels get the last of their playing done in the tree right next to my favourite window. If they would only come closer . . .

Change of weather

Uh oh - it's snowing today. That means that my foster mum is going to break out the Christmas hat so that she can make Christmas cards with pictures of me on the front. I don't like wearing the Christmas or any other hat - hats ruin my reputation as a gentleman. Well, maybe I'd wear a top hat and monacle.

Last weekend two of my foster sisters were adopted together by a lovely lady named Sarah. Mum tells us that Chyna and Cameo are enjoying their new home, especially as there's plenty of room in which to run and play. I miss them, but now there's more room on mum's lap for me!

Changes in the family

It looks like two of my foster brothers are going to be adopted this weekend. I'll be sad to see them go, but I'm pleased they're going to a new home, and together too! Their almost-new family said that they have lots of toys and windows for my brothers to enjoy.

The laser pointer is the only toy I need. I love it when Mum turns out the lights and flashes the laser around the room. I tend to go nuts for a little while, then I remember that I'm supposed to be a gentleman, and I stop chasing it. My foster brothers and sisters are not refined at all - they climb walls and couches to catch that little light. I don't even know if they realise it's just a light!

First Day Online

Oh wow! My first day on Catster, and I have 12 friends already! Thank you everyone for giving me treats and rosettes too!

My foster mum said that she knew everyone would love me as much as she does - now we're just hoping to find a forever family for me to adopt. Mum would love me to stay with her forever, but she'll probably be leaving the country in a little while, so has to find homes for me and my foster brothers and sisters.

We're still learning the ins-and-outs of Catster, so if I don't respond to messages from any of you, it's just because I don't know how to yet.

At the moment I'm letting Mum do most of the work anyway. She's the one with the computer. I'm happy just sitting in bed, watching the squirrels in the back yard. My foster sister Coral is always bothering me. She can't keep her paws off me, and wants to cuddle all the time, but I'm a bit of a bachelor - I like the other cats, but don't need them cuddling me all the time.

I love cuddles from Mum though. When she comes home, I make sure I flop at her feet in front of the other cats and roll on my back for tummy rubs - Mum kisses my tummy and I purr and purr. After dinner, when she sits on the couch and works on the computer, I jump on her lap and make it as difficult as possible for her to reach the keyboard. Why would she want to work when she could get kisses from me?
