Arrival Story:
I came home for lunch from work one day and saw this small furball that was interested in me. I coaxed him over and found he had a flea-collar that was about 6 months old, he was covered with tangles and had tons of fleas. I brought him in to meet our cat Casper to see if they would get along, and he submitted (got flat on the ground and let Casper check him out). After several flea-baths and a couple of combings (including the use of a flea-comb) he shaped up into a pretty kitty. It was soon after that we found out he was deaf (which was probably the reason he was "discarded"). We also found that he had been neutered at a very young age, and that confused Casper emensely (he thought Dusty was a girl!)

Dusty has always had a strong desire to go outside but with apropriate conditioning he respects his boundaries and won't approach the front door, whether it is opened or closed. Occasionally he gets to go out on a halter and leash. Since his buddy, Casper passed on 9/13/06, he has been wanting much more attention than he needed when Casper was around.

Lost a fang tooth

My dad noticed today that I was missing a fang on my lower right jaw. I don't remember how I lost it, but I think it's getting all better now. I actually lost several little front teeth next to my fang too. I probably lost it when I fell off my kitty tree when I was asleep. I do that from time to time, and I usually just shake it off and go about my day. All I know is that the area where my fang used to be seems to be healing over and has new skin growing.

I still look really funny when I yawn though.
