Arrival Story:
This cat turned up on my door step shortly after I moved here last October 2005. I enquired with neighbours who were also new because these were all new properties. Everyone came back with the same answer "I don't know who she belongs to but she is always hanging around". Before we moved to this new house I was in another small village and I was known as the 'cat lady' probably the 'crazy cat lady'. Everyone knew that I had several cats and fostered and rescued others. It seems now the same will be known here. Anyway back to Taz. I eventually found out that she actually 'belonged' to the 'lady' (erm could think of a better name) across the street. I obviously didnt want to cause any trouble because we had only just moved in. I am afraid though I am easy going where a cat or animal is involved I will speak my mind! I will cut the story short because it is a very long one. Basically the woman said it used to be her friends cat and had known it since it was a kitten. When they moved here she brought it and the brother to Taz with her. The reason was the other 'owner' was not looking after it properly!!! Ha ha ha. She found however when she got them here she was allergic to Taz! So Taz got chucked outside which is all she had been used to anyways. So she thought it was ok. Taz's brother just got out one day and disappeared never to be seen again (not sure I believe this one at all). So the long and short of it is Taz is only used to outside 14 years old and has never been in the house. The brother of Taz is missing never to be seen again. I asked her if she had so many problems with her allergies if she would sign the cat over to me? I had been feeding her 3 times a day for about a month at this time. Now get this.......... the woman said 'Oh no Taz is mine she is a street cat totally feral will claw you to death and she hates being indoors'. She added that if something happens to Taz she wants someone to bring her to the house so she can bury her in the back garden. Now I dont want to appear rude but I think the woman is a nutter. I legally can do nothing nor can the cat rescue around here. I know the laws because I was in cat rescue for many years. So my poor suffering husband (and believe me he is a poor bloke putting up with me and all the cats) said well she can live here then. Yipppppppeeeeee a result. Taz comes for her food and water several times a day. She is a very very friendly (feral) cat! ;-) and loves nothing more than a cuddle a brush and a warm bed. The woman across the street still sees her about so there are no arguements and Taz is one happy little girl. Some people in this world are strange to say the least. When I was in rescue I would always think I have heard it all and then the next one would be a new one on me. Taz is very very special and I hope you all think so too.

I have had a very hard life. Only I didnt know it was hard or different to any others until now.
I met a cat called Fat Boy Slim one evening. Fat Boy was rustling about in the 'hedge'. He asked me if I wanted to come and meet his family.
I was not too sure if they would really want to meet me...I have not been in a house for a very long time. I cant remember when it was. I have a couple of spots were people put food out for me. But thats outside.
I went to the door with Fat Boy and when the door opened .....well there was a lady.
She said Hello you two, you found a friend Fat Boy? This lady had been friendly to me before she had picked me up and loved me. She put yummy food out for me. I even had a beautiful dish with water.
I went into the house a little nervous but the lady said it was ok.
I had my supper and the lady invited me to get on the sofa with her. I couldnt believe it it felt so good. I cuddled with the lady and I looked her in the eye to say thanks and it felt so good. There was a very fluffy pillow too and I snuggled down while being loved and went to sleep. Do you know I am 14 years old and that cushion felt so good and the loving from the lady. I am sometimes quite stiff I guess thats because I am old and always lived outside. Anyway I slept and slept I was asleep for 9 hours.
The lady had told me that she would like to be my 'mum' and I am welcome to live in the house with them all. I am taking up the offer because I think I wont make another winter outside. The winters have seemed longer and longer and colder too.
So thats my diary today I finally found a family that want me and love me.
Some of us are lucky some are not.
I think now I am very lucky it just took a long time for the luck to come. For all you cats out there in the cold I hope you find a lady like mine this winter.

Love you all for the rosettes the love you have sent me on here. Thanks so much you have made an old lady cat very happy.

Purrrrrrrrs from a very loved and now happy Taz.
