indoors Arrival Story: Adopted from the Pasadena Humane Society. Because we owned a "northern hemisphere" dog (Duchess - a malamute mix), the SPCA would only let us adopt an adult cat that would not run when approached by a dog. The SPCA said the "kill" instinct was more keen in dogs from the northern hemisphere and by getting a cat that stood her ground that would not encourage the dog to chase and . . . . well you get the picture.
