Arrival Story: When I was just a kitten, my brothers and sisters and I were put in a box and left on a doorstep somewhere. Turns out it was a doorstep belonging to a very nice lady with a big heart. She took us in and raised us, and when we were big enough, she let us come live at her horse farm as barn cats. She had lots of boarders, so she was hoping that we would find homes with some of them. One day I saw a girl grooming her horse. She seemed really nice and she had some friends with her. I went by her and her friends and meowed until they picked me up and snuggled me. I purred and purred and even tried to nurse. They just thought I was the cutest thing, so they asked the nice lady if they could take me home and she said yes cause she knew my new Mommy would take good care of me and give me a good life as an indoor house pet. The indoor life was great - I had no interest in ever living outside again! Mommy and her roommates all loved me very much, but I really bonded with Mommy the most so when her roommates went their separate ways, I stayed with her and my big sister Kittie.

Important Dates: My birthday is August 28th, 2004.
Name: Mommy's roommate was actually the one to name me. He named me after cirrus clouds because as a kitten I had lots of silver streaks in my black fur. He said it reminded him of clouds. Before I got the name Cirrus, the people at the barn called me "Weasel". I like the name Cirrus better.
Playtime: I'm a fairly playful cat, although I like to cuddle with Mommy more than play. But sometimes I get in a playful mood. I like playing with Kittie too, but sometimes she doesn't always want to play with me. I like to chill and lay on my scratch-matt - Kittie thinks it belongs to her but it really belongs to me. I like feather pouncers too, but usually Kittie beats me to them. Mostly I like simple toys I guess - bouncy balls, paper bags, boxes, and my curious nature.
Family: I won't lie, I'm a total Momma's Boy. My Mommy is my whole world and I love her so much! I am a really affectionate boy though to everyone I meet.
Food: I'll pretty much eat anything, or at least try a nibble of it once to see if I like it. I am proud to be a grain-free cat. Mommy rotates us between several brands and varieties of grain-free kibble and occasionally canned food too. We also get to eat meat and fish - both raw and cooked.
Catster Honors: I was featured as Diary of the Day on January 18th, 2008!
I'm not sure I like this afterall. I do like the no-more-kibble-ever rule, that's great. I've been very happy eating canned food every day. And I liked my occasional pinkie as a treat. But Mommy got some pre-made ground raw stuff, and started mixing it in with our canned food. I don't like it. I refused to eat at breakfast yesterday, and I tried to just pick out some of the canned at dinner but Mommy mixed the raw in really well so I only ate a bit. I refused to eat again this morning for breakfast, and tonight for dinner. Mommy said she doesn't want us to go without food for too long though because we can get sick. So she poured some tuna juice in our dinners tonight, and I finally ate everything in the bowl. Mommy says we can't always be bribed with tuna though, because she's read that canned tuna isn't exactly good for us (something about Mercury?) but she just wants to help us through the transition. She says that soon, all we will get is the medallions, and now that her new meat grinder got here yesterday, soon she'll start grinding food for us herself. She hopes that one day we'll eat non-ground, and she's wondering if maybe I'd like that better than the ground since I like to eat pinkies. I don't know why I've decided to be picky, but I just have. But Mommy's not giving up. I guess in the end, we'll all have to get used to it.
Mommy has already made her New Years resolution - us cats are going raw, or bust!
The other day, she brought home some leftover frozen pinkies from work. She gave one to each of us cats. I gobbled mine up right away! It was yummy! Stitch eventually ate hers, but Kittie and Tiger wouldn't touch their pinkies. Stitch and I got some kibble, and Kittie and Tiger went to bed with none. The next morning, Mommy tried to get them to eat their pinkies (that had been frozen again over night and re-thawed in the morning), but they still wouldn't touch them. After another failed attempt at dinner, I got to eat the leftover pinkies! Yay!
Mommy says that she is worried about our dental health, especially Kittie who is having problems with her teeth. So Mommy wants to get us all on a raw diet so that chewing on bones will clean off the nasties. Mommy found a meat grinder that is affordable and wants to get it for us for the Holidays. She hopes that if she starts out by grinding our raw diet, it will help with the transition this time.
Mommy packed us all up today and put us in the car and then we drove for about 20 minutes. She pulled up at another house and brought us all inside, and we finally got to come out of the kennels. I immediately ran and hid, while Kittie and Stitch decided to explore a little. There is another male cat here but he's sitting in the window sill and ignoring us. I'm not really sure why I'm here but Mommy says that this is where we're going to live now. She says that she and Daddy are separating, but I'm kind of confused because Daddy has been gone for awhile already. All the dogs are here too, so it's really a full house. The man that we are living with now is very nice. He said I was a handsome boy and coaxed me out from behind the sofa and gave me lots of pets and scritches. I just hope we'll be ok and Mommy won't have to be so sad now that we're all together.
