Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone,

Just wishing all my friends a very happy Thanksgiving! I'm really hoping my mom will let me sample some turkey, but Mom said no - there's garlic in it and garlic's not good for cats. Oh well, I'm gonna try to get some anyway (but Mom won't let me)! Bailey's walking around meowing Happy Thanksgiving and sounds like a turkey himself...maybe I'll beat him up and eat HIM! :) Naw, he's too fun and I love him too much to eat him :) I'm just being silly and laying here purring.

So that's that, and thanks to my friend Timmy Tomcat for the teeny tiny turkey! Teeny-Tiny is one of Bailey's nicknames, BTW.

Love to all,

Timmy :)

Our Favorite Vet

I was going to write about how a few weeks ago, a mousie came into our house and how Bailey and I tried to catch it, and all the capers involving that.

Sadly, we just found out one of our favorite vets passed away this weekend. Dr. Engelhardt was so warm, caring, funny. Just an all around great guy. He took fantastic care of us, and now we know he's at the Rainbow Bridge saying hello to all the animals he took care of who passed on. We will miss him immensely, but know he's no longer suffering himself (he had a brain tumor).

Rest in peace, dear doctor.

Movietime!

Hi Everyone,

I hope that all my friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Ours was quiet; my mom spent 2 days cooking up a storm, Bailey and I got Sheba duck and chicken for our dinner, and we didn't get to sample the turkey, but we did get to have some yummy whipped cream from the pumpkin pie :)

My mom found something on the Internet that she wanted to try for us boys: a movie! Now, I'm not really that interested in the computer -- never was-- and I've oftentimes actually been repelled when it's on; I see no real use for it, and I'm not a television watcher. Bailey on the other hand, enjoys the computer, and if there's something he's interested in, such as the DIY channel, or something on Animal Planet, or NatGeo, he'll sit and watch for a while.

Well, Mom found something super special -- she Googled "Cat Sitter" and found a ton of videos on Youtube that are made especially for kitties to watch and enjoy! I sat there and WATCHED THE MOVIE! I loved seeing the gerbils, hamsters, mice, fish, and birds! It was AWESOME! I wanted to bat the gerbils and fish around! I couldn't get enough and sat on the chair and watched the movie on the computer! Mom was astounded because I've either shown no interest or run away from the computer! I told Bailey about the movie and he came over to see it and stole my seat! Naughty little brother :( I'm sure Mom'll show the movie again real soon! Oh I also saw a very short clip of two kitties chirping at each other and then at the end the gave each other baths :) that was fun too!

Hugs and purrs,

Timmy

I'm 4 Today!

Wow! My mom can't believe I'm 4 years old today! What a long journey it's been since I've come to live here with my family. I've come so far, and have overcome so many obstacles and inhibitions, I'm a totally different kitty from when I first came to live here :)

I'm hearing rumors about presents and a special dinner... hmmm... I'm not much of a toy cat, I love my peacock feather, and my rattan spiral ball (that I lose all the time), and I love crumpled paper and tin foil balls, but as for manufactured toys, I'm really not into them. Of course my extra favorite toy is my best buddy and adopted brother, Bailey :) We have so much fun together, even when he bullies me out of my chair, or even when Mom is holding me and giving me lovin's :) He gets super jealous and jumps into Mom's arms forcing me out!

So excited about the special dinner!!! I wonder what it'll be??? My mom is searching on the Internet for the toy she wants to get, I hope I like it!

Hugs and purrs,

Timsy Bean :)

Happy Summer!

Hi Everyone,

It's been forever since I last wrote, and thought I'd let everyone know what I've been up to.

Honestly, not too much; just being extra-Timmylicious, loving my family - my mom and my brother Bailey, enjoying the birdies, squirrelies, and chippies that visit us on the deck, and the occasional wild turkey, groundhog, and fox.

We had some excitement earlier in the month -- we got 6 new windows in our house! They're GREAT! We loved the salesman who came, and the man who came to do final measurements; he gave Bailey and I lots of lovins, and we enjoyed watching the installers put the windows in the living room even though we were prisoners in the family room (watched through the French doors). The new windows are fabulous because they actually open and our family keeps them open all the time! We get to LAY in them! It's such a treat even though we do it all the time, now. We especially love laying in the livingroom windows because we've never been able to do that before and it's so fun to watch and hear all the people that go by. We also love the fact that my mom can have both windows open in her room, and now Bailey and I don;t have to share the smaller side window! One of us gets that one, and the other gets the larger front window, which has been replaced! YAY!

My mom went to a place called Montreal, Canada in May, and we thought she smelled like Canada... it was pretty neat, but we missed her for the days she was gone :( We were excited to see her though, and thankfully Bailey didn't hold a grudge like he did when she went to her friends' farm in upstate NY last year. I think because my mom smelled like dogs - our cousin Sammie, and Sammie's aunt Chopper, he was a bit intimidated, though he himself had 2 doggy siblings as a baby at the breeder's.

So that's it from here, hope all my friends are doing well!

Hugs and purrs,

Timsy Bean

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Everyone,

Wow! It's been almost a year since my diary was updated! Things have been pretty quiet; we've had guests and Bailey and I have been happy to see them. My mom has been very busy with work; something called "layoffs" occurred at her job and her boss was let go. She's been very, very sad about that, but her job was spared, so things are pretty normal here still. She does seem more stressed though :(

Good news, we're watching Firevision again, and Bailey and I are back to snuggling, as fall and winter are snuggling season (summer's just too hot, even though Bailey always wants to). I've lived here for 2 years this past August, and earlier this month, I celebrated my 3rd birthday! YAYAYYAYAYAY! My family loves me so much, and I love my family :)

I have been watching Bailey jump from the stove up on top of the kitchen cabinets for several months. I've studied and observed, and in September, I mustered up the nerve and I did it too!!!!!! Now, both Bailey and I jump up there, sometimes together, and enjoy the views of the kitchen, dining room, and family room! It's so awesome!

I've also been sleeping in the guest room, on the people bed in there! Bailey has joined me, too, and we snuggle (of course!)

NEWSFLASH: Bailey and I were just on top of the cabinets, and my mom was watching TV and we just threw a glass cake plate to the floor! We didn't do it on purpose, it was in the way and it fell! Mom is SOOOOOOOO mad at us now! She just spent almost an hour cleaning up all the glass shards, and she won't talk to us... I know she'll forgive us soon :)

Anyway, she wants to go to sleep, we'll write more around Thanksgiving.

Hugs and purrs,

Timmy

Thanksgiving/Christmas Update

Hi Everyone,

It's been ages since I last wrote, but Mom hasn't let us use the computer much because she's been tired. I know Bailey and I should probably use it by ourselves, we do know how to use it, and Bailey's a technological marvel... he loves to watch TV and does study the computer a fair bit.

So what's been going on? Well, we had guests for Thanksgiving, and I didn't like the male one. I LOVE all visitors, but this one seemed a bit strange. I didn't want to dislike him, but he made me feel weird and nervous, and I growled at him a lot, which is soooo uncharacteristically un-Timmylike (how's that for the double negative?). The woman was nervous and seemed far away, and my mom kept telling me and Bailey to be nice to her and show her some love, but we were distant yet charming. That's the first time we've ever acted like that, but kitties have excellent intuition and we knew something was wrong. My mom explained to us that they have something called "mental illness," but we're not too sure what that means. Mom just said we had to be on our best, most charming behaviours.

Then yesterday was Christmas!! Santa came!! He gave us wonderful candies, and dried fish treats! They're sooooo yummy! We got lovely Sheba for supper, and I got a loofah dog toy specially sized for kitties! We also got a really cool ball that moves all by itself, but it broke and Mom had to return it to Petco. She said that's where Santa accepts the broken toys so that he can repair them. We also got a beautiful bed as a spare, but we don't like it. It's too soft. Mom's disappointed. Bailey got a new mousie, too. We had a guest, a cousin our family hasn't seen in ages, and that was GREAT! He was such a nice guy and we wanted to give him so much lovins! Bailey almost sat in his lap and I kept hugging him! Sadly, he's allergic to kitties but he was nice to us.

I almost forgot the best part! Our Christmas tree!! It's so beautiful! We didn't have it last year because Bailey was still a little baby, and Mom was afraid we'd get hurt, but since we're big boys, we were good. I only pulled the tree down once! I love the Christmas tree!

That's about it from here, hope Santa was good to all of you, too!

Hugs and purrs,

Timmy :)

PS: Yay for Santa! Yay for guests! Yay for Bailey! Yay for my mom!

Yay! I've lived with my family for a whole year!

Hi everyone!

Last weekend was my 1 year anniversary! YAYAYAY! My mom adopted me on August 11, 2006!!!!!! I'll never forget that day, as long as I live. Here's my story in a nutshell:

I was at a kill shelter for 2.5 weeks. Just before being surrendered, my awful first family had me neutered. They took me to the vet's all the time, because my ears bothered me. (NOTE FROM TIMMY'S MOM: The humane society had Timmy's vaccination history from the previous people, and it had the vet's name and address. I was able to get his complete medical history from the original vet, and I read it before bringing it over to my vet. This is what I can piece together)

So anyway, I was in a dog pen with a bunch of other kittens and they were all girls. They were all nice, except for a 4.5 year old kittygirl who was with us. She threatened all of us, and I was very upset. My mom was invited into the cage by one of the nice ladies who worked there, and she picked me up and loved me. I purred and purred, and I kept praying, "please, please take me home, I don't want to be here. I want to be loved!" And my mom said she'd take me, and here I am :)

I'm such a happy boy :) My mom got me 2 different kinds of yummies, and she got me 2 great feather toys! Bailey and I shared the yummies and the toys. My family loves me soooooooo much!

YYAYAYAYAYAY for my family! :)

Love,

Timmy

Fruitflies are yucky!

Hi everyone!

I sure hope the summer is agreeing with all my readers :) It's been so hot here, that my family has had the air conditioning on for a very long stretch. I love it, because my fur is so thick, and I get hot easily.

We've had an infestation of fruit flies in our house! It's pretty awful! My people put some bananas in a bowl on top of our Ikea pantry and FORGOT ABOUT THEM! EEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!

We started seeing a few little flies and didn't think anything of it. Then the other day, there was a huge swarm! My mom saw the bowl and saw the gross bananas, which were black, and moldy, and shrivelled, and had fruitfly larvae all over them :( GROSS GROSS GROSS GROSS GROSS! She got rid of the bananas and the larvae, but there were still a lot of flies. I've been trying to help kill them, but they're so little and tiny. Bailey's tried too, but we've both been unable to kill many. My mom's pretty successful; she uses something in a spray can, which has helped a lot, and she can kill them with her bare hands! YAY for my mom!

As of today (Saturday), we still have a small amount left in the house, but the number's dwindling. Bailey and I were upset before, because the flies lit on our water and food dishes, and we didn't know why. We're so glad the flies are going away!

My mom tells me and Bailey that she's thankful it was only fruitflies and not ants. She loathes ants and thinks they irritate/sicken kitties. She blames them for why Cassie got sick and died. It might not be rational or accurate, but she does.

In other news, it's August 4! That means in one week, I'll have lived here for ONE YEAR! WOW! I've never lived anywhere for a whole year! I can't believe exactly one year ago, that I was in the humane society. I was so sad. Mom's gonna throw me a party and I'll get some presents! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!! I've changed a lot in the year that I've been here. I'm no longer as skittish, I'm more confident, and I'm not depressed! YAYAYAY! I love my family so much! They're hte best! I'm so loved and cherished, it's such a great feeling. :)

I'll write more later!

Love,

Timmy :)

PS: YAY for my mom! YAY for my family! YAY for Bailey!

Tape players are scary!

Hi everyone!

My mom was cleaning her bedroom today, and wanted to put a new Ikea nighttable into service, so she had to take all the stuff off her old one. On the bottom shelf of the old nighttable, there was this thing that had a shoebox full of little plastic rectangles in it. Mom plugged in the thing, and put the content of one of the plastic rectangles in it. It ATE it! Then, she turned it on. Mom said she hasn't turned the big thing on in years... and *then* the scary part happened! When she tried to adjust the volume, it made VERY LOUD static noises! Bailey and I were watching, and got very frightened! After a while, music started playing, and we didn't watch it anymore.

When the music stopped, the machine's mouth opened and Mom took the plastic thing out and put it back in its case. She took the machine off hte chair, but Bailey and I jumped a mile as it got close to us! Bailey wanted to smell the machine but was a little too scared, because he jumped, even though it was turned off. I watched from a distance, because I thought it might eat me, too!

Ooooh we just heard a scary animal outside scream. At first, Mom thought it was one of the neighbors screaming from a bad dream, but it did it again and didn't sound like a person, plus, the houses aren't *that* close. We're all a little freaked out because we don't know what kind of animal it was. We definetly don't think it was a cat. It made a kind of bark after, but it didn't sound like a dog at first, either, unless it was being attacked. Back in February, Mom saw either a coyote or a wolf in the daytime on the way back home from work. There is also something called a "fisher cat" around here, too, so who knows? At some point in the winter, Mom thought she heard young coyotes yipping... Bailey heard it too. I was asleep :)

That's it from here! Don't forget to sign my guestbook if you haven't!!!

Love,

Timmy :)

PS: Yay for Bailey! Yay for my family! Yay for catnip! Yay for everyone who's signed my guestbook (haven't done the "yays" in a while... gotta get back to doing them!!
