Quick Bio:
-pound cat

Birthday:
March 10th 2003

Coloration:
Black

Likes:
Acting weird, bugging Mom

Pet-Peeves:
Getting touched too much by my husband (AKA "big hairy man;" for some reason, Sprout is spooked by my husband, even though my husband has never done anything to weird him out)

Favorite Nap Spot:
He likes cuddling up in a cozy on the bed with one or two of the other cats.

Skills:
Sprout is excellent at the "made you look" and "come find me" games. He is our most vocal cat. He will walk around in the kitchen and dining room yeowling like he's lost, and I will sometimes go in there and "find" him. He seems to like that.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
I have a truly spiritual connection to Sprout, all the way from the beginning. I had been in deep mourning for my cat Riker, even a couple of years after his death. He was the first cat that I lost, and I felt it the hardest. One night, I had a dream about him. He was able to talk to me, and we talked for a long time about a lot of things. In the end, he told me that he was sending me someone to take care of me. The dream left me with a wonderful sense of peace that I had not felt since he had died. That day, we were doing an adoption outreach for the animal charity we volunteered with. We got to the shelter and were picking out cats, and I saw a little, scraggly black kitten that I just had to have (Riker was a black cat). I at first took him along for the adoption, but as the day went on, I knew he was the kitten Riker had talked about, and we adopted him at the end of the day. He came home and Ella took him in and let him nurse with her brood. That gave us seven--yes, seven!--kittens all at the same time (with Little Bit on the way just a few months later). Quite the baby boom.

Bio:
I really do believe that Sprout carries Riker's spirit. I have felt at peace about Riker ever since Sprout entered my life. Sprout is remarkably similar to Riker. They are both eccentric, weird, affectionate, and very vocal. They both have the same effeminate carriage and nervous disposition. Sprout loves coming up to me and constantly batting at me until I pet him, just like Riker did. The only big thing Sprout's missing is that he doesn't play fetch (and I really miss that... sigh). Sprout is his own cat, but he is a worthy ambassador to Riker's legacy.

Lives Remaining:
8 of 9

Forums Motto:
Ha, ha...made you look!

The Groups I'm In:

Name Origin:
I chose Sprout, but I'm not certain where exactly it came from. He just seemed like a Sprout.
