The Trials of Big Head Ted

Mom has been vegging out in bed all day. She's sad because Chan died. At least he went in his sleep. If you've gotta go, that's the way to go, I guess.

To cheer Mom up, she's had the radio on and has been singing along with her favorite songs (she's got an itchy trigger finger for that dial, though... she gets satellite radio and now she's all spoiled). I came up to her and let her sing to me. She doesn't have a great voice but she makes up for it in enthusiasm. Some of the songs were loud, and I decided that I just might not be a rocker (Mom seemed to like the stuff, but it mostly was just annoying noise to me). Not even "Cat Scratch Fever" (although that might have been because of Mom's weird sounds she'd make to the guitar riffs). My favorite song? *Hides Face in Shame* "Shadow Dancing" by Andy Gibb. I got the most mellow look on my face and just happily gazed up at Mom for that entire song. Mom noticed and started picking on me, asking if I was more of a Andy Gibb or Bee Gees fan and explaining the differences between the two. I got up and left. She can sing on her own if she's going to be snarky.

Sushi

I just had the most delicious snack: sushi! Mom and Dad just started making it last week, and Mom was eating some leftovers this morning but wasn't able to eat her last roll. She put it aside on the bed, and then I looked it over. It was a tuna roll (mmmm, tuna!). I ended up with a big mouthful of seaweed on my first bite, but that wasn't too bad, either. I ended up getting rice all over the bed, but that was okay because I managed to get to the tuna and it was _so_ good! Luckily I didn't get any wasabi in my mouth (the ignorant dog ended up with a big mugful of that last week when "cleaning" a plate... haha!). Sushi is tasty.

To believe that I didn't even eat table scraps for my first year or so here. Boy, was I missing out on some good stuff! I'm still pretty picky, but every now and then Mom has the best goodies, and she always shares. Way to go, Mom!

We're Going to Play a Game...

Mom set up my background for my page and chose Billy the Puppet from the Saw movies. They call me Jigsaw sometimes because of my previous bloody episodes with the dog and my general attitude at times, but I'm not really that bad now. I get cranky with some of the cats when they get in my space and I like using the kittens as punching bags (Mom scolds me so badly, but hey, they keep coming back, so it can't be that bad). And, of course, I hate Cork Dog and will beat her mercilessly if she gets too stupid horsing around and bounces up to me. Really, though, I'm pretty peaceful and not as bad a boy as my reputation is. Now Mom went and put up a scary background so everybody will think I'm a bad seed. That's not all bad, though. I like being the tough boy, especially if I don't have to do much work for it, so if people think I might be a little on the tough side... well, good. Mom knows I'm just a big softie, so as long as she isn't telling anyone else (you better not Mom!), I'm fine.
