One more time

It happened again, like it did the last time. The day before I was fine, and the next day, urine just won't flow!

Very alert mama and papa, found that I visited the cat litter bin but no urine was found. Without hesitation, they pushed me into the carrier (not without putting on much fight). I knew where they wanted to bring me to. The last time they pushed me in, and brought me to the vet hospital, I actually urinated in the carrier - but not this time. Because I had the urethra blockage again on 29 Nov.

At the vet, the same procedures (catheratisation, IV drips, tests, tests and more tests) were done, except that I'm more traumatised this time around - they did a bad shave job on both my arms and around my balls! The only good thing that happens is I'm able to pee fine again. I'm just not feeling the full vibes in me yet.

Home sweet home

The best place to be is home.

Hospital is not fun, I had to wear elizabeth collar and with that I
could not even stand straight in the cage.

Back home I can freely zoom and skip around the rooms, surf the web on my catputer, and watch mickey mouse on tv.

What's more, mama and papa are so glad that I'm home, they have me in their bedroom every nights since I'm back. I totally enjoy the bed for a good night sleep.

Treasure hunt

I met many other cats and dogs in the hospital. I was pretty nervous, but mama told me that I will be ok.

That night, they run a blood test for me and hooked a drip for me, and probably some tube at abdomen area (I don't like it) - I can't see it because they had put some stuff around my neck (hate this too).

I was pretty upset because of that stuff I couldn't reach behind to groom my legs.

The next morning, Vet called mama and said they found some crystals in my urine (I wonder if that's treasure hunt), they will continue the routine. *DAMN*

Blood test result is perfect - nothing to worry about. PURRS.

Thanks for you guys who purred for me.

I will return home soon.

Flash back.........

Remind your human to check on you all the time.

Mama was lucky, so was I.

I am always such an active boy - ruling the house; one moment I would be on top of the couch, the next I would be leaping off to the chair behind - and if you blink, you would not have seen where I would have run to. Of course, I do get into my relax mood every evening when mama is around.

So that's me - up until the day, when mama rushed me to the hospital. At night, I was pacing up and down the hall, and walked into the toilet for my litterbin. Mama stood in front of the toilet on many occasions to watch me - but I just couldn't pee - com' on, could she give me some privacy? After a couple of mins - sometimes up to 5 mins, I would give up and leave my bin. That gone on for more than 1 hr, during that period, I heard mama said vet tomorrow first thing in the morning.

But she did not wait till morning - probably because I had paced up and down the hall too often, unlike my usual litterbin behaviour. She's worried I wouldn't get a good night sleep. She called someone on the phone, and she was instructed to check my abdomen for something - she did - then she replied that she's not sure - and I meowed, hey you knew what's wrong with me? I just can't pee! Then she said something about emergency.

And next she took out the carrier and said we got to rush, I thought well, might as well be a good kitty.

Shortly, we arrived at the hospital, I heard the man in green said oh, I'm glad you're here. Then a man in gray - probably the vet, checked my abdomen - guided mama to check as well. He said yup, I had a bladder obstruction. He would manually force the urine out, and would had to put a CATERER to assist my urination, and for this he had to keep me in the hospital for 3-4 days. Probably there are crystals (?!) in my bladder which caused the blockage.

Vet also told mama that it's great that she discovered my condition at this stage - otherwise the consequences may be devastating - as this may lead to kidney problem.

So, Mama was lucky to take action that night, rather than to wait until the next morning, so was I lucky.

Bladder Obstruction

Well, it happens in a day.

Niwa has to visit the litterbin so frequently to attempt to urinate today - probably over ten times in an hour. And some faint cries.

I called up the vet, and was told this is an emergency case. We brought him to the vet and he was diagnosed with bladder blockage, and has to be admitted for the next few days.

They will unblock the bladder which requires to sedate him , run a blood test, drip him with IV fluid.

He has just jumping around yesterday. It all just happens in a day.

Prayers for him. We had lost Nikko. We can't afford to lose Niwa.

The doorbell rang, I ran to the door with Daddy. We were expecting a guest at this time.

Daddy opened the door, and it was this other stranger. OK, fine, it's not Aunt Yakult person. This Aunt Yakult visits my house every Monday without fail. She always full of praises of me. MOL.

Niwa : So, what's this stranger doing here, Daddy?

Daddy : She's just here to sell me something else.

She spotted me sitting next to Daddy's feet.

Stranger : Is that your cat?

Niwa : (Omigod, you can't tell?)

Daddy : Yes. (Smile)

Stranger : We don't see many cats in homes.

Niwa : (Hello, am I not a cat?)

Daddy : Oh really? (Smile reluntantly)

Stranger : Is your cat PREGNANT?

Niwa and Daddy in unison : (NO)

Niwa : MOL, Daddy there is something very strange with this stranger! Can't she tells that I'm a BOY! I just heard the biggest joke of my life, I'm not a PREGNANT CAT!

Daddy : No, he's a boy! (Pat my head). He's just on the plump side.

Was that a compliment?

oh boy oh boy oh boy, Mr. postman delivered a surprise gift for me!

Before opening up the package, I could already sense it. There must be some real goody that starts with the capital 'C'!

After tearing apart the package, oh boy, it's there! It's Catnip! and it's not any catnip, it's COSMIC Catnip!!! (Two C words! )WOOHOOOOOOHOOO!

You can't get Cosmic catnip in Singapore.

Mama was using the compurrter the other day (not so discreetly), at some kittysmart.com. She knows I'm so excited over catnips. Mama says it's better late than never to give me anniversary gift. Surprise!

Hold on, that's not all, there's a lounge bed in leopard prints (ok, mama I should pardon you for the bad bed choice, and will post a print of the pic in my catster).

It's my happiest day, and many more to come. Mama I love you.

Headbutts. MOL.

My Meme

I have been tagged by Ashley to participate in a meme.

The rules: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own blog about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

1. I'm an indoor cat, I own all the furniture and rooms (except the dreaded showerroom) in the house.

2. The fave name that I like my parents to call me is "Talented Mr Niwa".

3. I am my parents' alarm clock, and I go into snooze mode automatically.

4. I love to sing in purr meowlody. If there is a "Catster Idol" I will be the first to audition.

5. I help to groom my parents, the way I grown myself - licking them!

6. I am good at standing on my feet and doing 'Hi 5' with mama.

7. My fave position is lying on my back because that's when I get a massage.

Now I tag these 7 cats:

1.Milo
2.Beau Bleu
3.ozzie
4.Biscuit
5.Praline
6.Jason Hopper
7.Casper

Purrs,
Niwa

I own all the chairs at home

Yes. I counted, ALL the chairs at home are mine.

I know what is a chair, as long as mama or papa's rear has rested upon it, it is a chair!

I own papa's armchair,
mama's armchair (which looks exactly like papa's armchair but is newer),
all the white chairs - all SIX of them at the dining table,
two black high chairs,
two plastic beige chairs from IKEA
the sofa / couch,
the red armchair where all the teddy bears and carebears are residing,
and now the greatest conquer of all the green ottoman.

I have finally, after one year's attempt, managed to climb on top of the peanut shaped ottoman! Yes, technically it is toughest for me, because it does not have a flat top. The terrain is tough, I used my claws to secure my body and lie low to balance, and when I'm on top I felt like on top of a mountain, I could put up my flag on my ottoman.

I owned EVERY CHAIRS and I have arrived. MOL
