Arrival Story: We always had a special adoration for Orange Tabbies, and had always wished for an exceptional cat to add to the family.
It was fate. One day we popped in the shelter to check out the animals. The minute we walked in, there came a box of seven orange 6-week old kittens being surrendered to the shelter.
We carefully looked at each of the kitties, deciding carefully which one to pick. We narrowed it down to a little girl with white paws, or the adventurous all-orange one with a white dot on his chest. There was one little curious kitty, pouring out of the box...it was Tiger. How could anyone say "no" to that adorable, fluffy, orange coat and those astounding blue eyes? We immediately took him into our arms and brought him home. We are so blessed to have our sweet boy, he is an absolute doll! I couldn't imagine life without him.

Bio: Sadly, when Tiger turned about 4 years old, we started noticing that he would get down low to the ground and start having "coughing" attacks. We took him to the vet where we were told he just had "hairballs" We then obtained a special hairball formula food, but no difference was made with his "coughing" it actually seemed to be getting worse!
We took Tiger to the vet yet again, where they diagnosed him with "Bronchitis."
Meanwhile, X-rays were taken and it was found that Tiger didn't have Bronchitis...it was worse.
There was a large mass of fluid called Chyme gathering in and around Tiger's lungs. The Chyme was shrinking his lungs to the point where he sometimes couldn't even breathe properly. Tiger was put under anesthesia, to determine the prognosis. For further outlook, we drove three hours to a specialty vet, where the chyme was determined. The vet gave us the choice of medications or surgery. We chose medications since they surgery came with risks for Tiger. Poor Tiger-now he has to take 4 large pills twice a day -everyday for the rest of his life. Well, his lungs may be small now, but he's still got a big heart! We'd like to keep him for as long as we can-until that day comes when he crosses the bridge.

Forums Motto: ♥

Serious animal overpopulation causes millions of loving potential pets to be euthanized each year. Pet owners can play a major role in combating this tragic situation by spaying or neutering their pets.
There are millions of homeless animals that are in desperate need of a forever home, many of which are euthanized each day. So please do not breed or buy pets; instead adopt them from a shelter or rescue organization.
