Arrival Story:
Maxwell found his way to the park where I worked. People frequently dropped dogs, cats, and even rabbits in the park, thinking they could survive in the wild - right. So Max lived in the park's nature center for a few weeks. It was kind of fun having a kitty lounging on my desk, but I decided he needed a real home and a visit to the vet. That's when he came to live with us.

Bio:
Max is very patient. He can spend hours sitting in front of a chipmunk hole, just in case it decides to come out to play. When Max arrived home, his brother, Spencer, was sooooo happy to have a brother. He had three sisters, but none really wanted to be his buddy. Max and he connected right away. They play together and Spencer looks after him all the time.

Tag Game

I was out patrolling my yard, and when I got back I discovered that I had been tagged by my friend, Phoebe, to participate in Kazumi Joy's meme.

The rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own diary about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary.

My seven random facts:
1. I will sit and watch a chipmunk hole for hours.
2. I am the smallest cat in my house.
3. However, I am the top cat in my house.
4. I love my brother, Spencer.
5. I will go outside in any weather, perhaps I was a postal carrier in another life.
6. I am a catnip addict. *eyes go wild* I can't help it, I just can't get enough.
7. I go crazy when mom gets out the laser pointer. I'll chase that little red light anywhere.

The cats that I am tagging are:
Hopper
Tigga
Fiesta Cat
Peaches
Kiowa
Ashlye

Exciting or scary?

I had quite an adventure the other day. I can only just now write about it. As usual, I was pestering to go outside early in the morning to make my daily patrol around the yard. Mom hestitated because she had to go away that day, but relented because I am a very good pesterer. But when she left, she forgot I was outside! She didn't get home until after dark, and when I didn't show up in the kitchen for dinner she realized what she had done and ran outside to find me. After she nearly had a heart attack, I came up on the deck and ran in the house. She lavished apologies and love on me the rest of the night.

So now kitties, I will share how I spent my exciting day. First, I made my patrols of the yard. I saw no intruders. I guarded the bird feeder for a while. Those birds eat too much seed and I have to force them to conserve. I went to my favorite chipmunk hole and watched for him to come out and play. Then I went up on the deck to go in, but mom never came. So back down for another patrol. Back on the deck. Around supper time I was getting pretty hungry and sat outside the door, but still no one came.

When it got dark, I heard the big owl that lives in our valley, so I stayed close to the house under the bushes. I worked my way to the front door, in case anyone was there. I cried a little (but don't tell anyone). Finally, a car pulled into the driveway, and shortly after I heard mom. But I was mad and a little scared so I made her wait just a little while before I finally went inside! Relief! Food! Hugs! I stayed inside the next day and slept a lot. I burned lots of energy on my adventure and needed to recharge. So that was my big adventure- exciting or scary? You decide.

A beau-ti-ful day!

It is a beautiful day today! The sun is shining and its nice and warm. No need to save energy, I'll just be baking myself in the sun. My patrol is easy today, no intruders and lots to keep me entertained. The deer have been coming round early, eating all of our plants. And I've noticed some of the winter birds - juncos - have arrived. I think I'll enjoy today!
