Yes - you read that right. No more treats for us. We went to the vet and apparently all three of us gained about 2 pounds. Soooo....now we're going on a diet that inclus prescription weight reduction food, and NO TREATS!!!

Just a little diary entry with a big THANK YOU in it for helping me celebrate my DDP and Dreamboat selection. Mom got home late tonight so I'm insisting on snuggles instead of computer time tonight.

Wow, I couldn't believe it when I saw that I was selected as one of Samoa's Dreamboats. I'm so excited. There are so many wonderful dreamboats that have been selected that I never dreamed I could be selected. This is such a great way to help me feel better about Mom going back to work.
Off to give Mom some extra curdles. She's my Valentine each and every year.

Hello dear friends. Just wanted to let you know we may not be on much this week. Mom had to have some unexpected surgery so we have to keep her company while she recovers. She had to have her appendix and her gall bladder removed. Not sure what either of those things does. I just know it means I can't lay on Mom's chest.

Well, unfortunately the Packers season ended yesterday with a loss to the NY Giants. A bummer but we'll still be watching the rest of the playoffs, and the Super Bowl.
To recover from our disappointment we all voted to take some extra naps. Luckily, my favorite nap spot (Mom's legs) were available late this afternoon. So, I'm on Mom's legs and Rose is laying next to Mom on the couch. Life is good!

Just wanted to apologize to all of our wonderful friends here on Catster. I know that we haven't been around much and that we have missed our friends' special days. Our apologies for being such poor friends. Here's why....
Dad surprised Mom with a trip to Walt Disney World, so they were in Florida from 11/12-11/19. The week before Mom was sooo busy trying to get ready for vacation she just ran out of time to let us go on Catster.
Then, she managed to pick up a nasty old cold while she was down there so she was so tired when she got done with work (staying late to get caught up) that she just couldn't make herself go on the computer.
Now, things are starting to settle down and we hope to be there for all our great friends (barring any Catster fleas). Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We're certainly thankful every day for having so many wonderful friends on Catster.

Just a quick note to say thank you to to all of my wonderful friends for helping celebrate my 9th Birthday today!
We've been having a pretty low key day. Mom's got another migraine so we've been having lots of snuggles with Mom today. We're very good at making her feel better. I've been sticking to her side all day today and giving her lots of nose rubs and cuddles.
For my Birthday, I'm asking a favor of all of my angel friends. One of the FELV+ cats, Guy, from the Sanctuary where Mom and Dad volunteer crossed over to the Bridge earlier today. He looks a lot like me, so look for the sweet boy that looks like me. Could you all please welcome him to the Bridge and tell him that we will all miss seeing him at the sanctuary?

2. Litterbox! Cover your business or let some other kitty cover? ***GASP***** Not cover my stuff in the box??? I don't think so. I'm extremely fastidious about covering my stuff, as well as any stray poo flecks.
3. Happy! Favorite Daily Routine?
That would have to be hallway snuggles. Every night Mom carries me upstairs and we cuddle and Dad gives me pets. It's our special time.
4. Hiss! Least Favorite Routine?
Mom leaving for work. I wish Mom could just stay home with me all day and snuggle.
5. Ding-Dong! What do you think about visitors to your house?
If it's people I know it's okay after a few minutes. If I don't know you, you can find me under the bed!
6. Friends! Do you like other animals?
I haven't had a lot of contact with other animals. When Mom and Dad were taking care of Mara (a stray) I tried making friends but she hissed at me and I got scared. I'm still trying to make friends with Rose, so I guess I'm a scaredy cat who wants to be friends.

I have a confession to make. I LOVE my Mom's hair brush. If she is brushing her hair I come running and jump up on the bathroom counter to help.
Mom says my help is more of a hinderance but I can't see why me pawing at the brush and wanting to be brushed with it is a hinderance. I'll just never understand Mom sometimes.
I have to admit that sometimes when it's sitting on the counter that I rub my cheeks against it and try to pick it up. Alas, it's too heavy so I can't steal it.

I haven't written in a while so I thought I would give you a quick update on what has been going on.
I've been busy growing my whiskers. Mom isn't quite sure what happened (and I'm not telling) but most of my whiskers were gone, so I've been busy regrowing them for the past few weeks. I must say they are coming in quite nicely.
Mom has been super busy so cuddle time has been at a premium. I make sure to ambush her whenever she sits on the couch. Sadly I missed my jump onto the couch so she snuck upstairs to go on the computer. That's okay, I just lay on the ottoman next to the computer.
Other than that, I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up. It was only in the 40s today so Mom and Dad had to wear winter jackets today. Brrr.....
