Arrival Story: Patches adopted us. She came to the door and stared at us. Literally sat there staring through the screen until we noticed her. For months I tried not to fall under her spell. We thought we had 'more than enough cats,' but Patches had other ideas. She brought us her kitten, "Tiddle Bit," who promptly fell asleep in our box of mint. It wasn't long before Tiddles was taken inside. Patches continued outdoors. Then came another litter. All three of those, of course, came inside (Pixel, Dot & Toner). Patches had more kittens AND they came inside (Critter, Grey Baby, Blackie, Tiny Tiger, Doodle, Boots, Whitey, Ting Ping and Beigee). We gave up. Patches won! She was offically adopted in 1998, just in time because she had one last kitten to bestow, Uno (a gift from God). Patches is the most wonderful cat I've ever been gifted to have. She is always loving, always attentive. If you sneeze, she is there. If you need her, she is there. If you are down she will play with you until you smile. She is truly a blessing and I love her unconditionally. I sometimes wonder what I was thinking not to bring her into our home sooner but when I see her lovely kittens around us, I know she had miracles to finish first. She will live out her days, pampered, loved, doted on and comfortable as we can make it. I hope she lives to be 100.

Bio: Momma, after having a life of great health, fell ill about 2 months ago. From that time on, she went further and further down. Even until the end, she tried to remain bouncy and mothering. I know that she knew how much I loved and depended on her. I think she would have held on until her last breath but today, Feb. 25, 2009, the vet told us she had come to a time in her life when she was constantly tired and nauseated. It wasn't the life I would wish for her. My husband held her. I kissed her. And in just a second she had gone.
She was a one of a kind cat. She mothered me as much as any cat ever could and I will miss her forever until we are joined again. God bless and keep her soul. May she chase her tail, lay in the sun, be with her kittens and our family who have gone before and may she not know any time has past before we are reunited.
