Today is my birthday/gotcha day and the best part is that my Mom is home today to spoil me. Well, I get spoiled everyday I guess, but today is extra special.
Please purr for my friend Violet, who looks a lot like me. He is having tests done to see why he's not feeling so good :(

Willie

Check out all of my family's pages. Aren't they beautiful? Pansy and her Mother made them for us!! ***Blows smoochies toward Canada***
I have been modeling my Calvin Collar that we received from our Secret Santa. I strut around like I am a prince when I have it on. Who can our Secret Santa be?? Secrets are fun but they sure can drive you crazy. Dad says that I am stretching it out. Is he implying that I have a fat neck? "No", says Dad, "you have NO neck!" Doesn't matter, Mom thinks I am the most handsome boy in the world, and that's all that matters. So there!
Hope all of our friends have a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah.
Purrs,
Willie

Well, actually, it's my Gotcha Day 'cause Mom and Dad don't know my actual birthday since I came from the local shelter. But they do know that whenever my real birthday is, the world became a fuzzier, more wonderful place.
Seriously, I plan on getting extra squishy hugs and kisses when Mom gets home tonight and Dad is home today to give me extra snackies all day and scratch me behind the ears. Ahh, life is good. And, Pansy is COTW!

Oooooh, look at the cool new page Pansy made for me. She's been helping Dad, well, actually she's been emailing Dad the codes and he's been applying them to our pages. Pretty spiffy, huh? What could be more dreamy than a whole page full of...me! That's what my Mom thinks anyway. Did I mention that I was an Official Dreamboat?

So Dad is always saying "how do all these people lose their pets?" everytime he reads something about a lost or missing cat or dog.
Well, Monday night, it happened. Dad was getting the trash gathered up for Tuesday's pickup. He had a big box in one hand and a bag of trash in the other. He opened the kitchen door to get into the garage and he heard it....the chirping of a million crickets and he knew........Mom had left the garage door open when she brought Pearl back from her stroll hours earlier!!
Now I have a terrible habit of dashing into the garage past all obstacles of legs and bags so they are always careful to make sure the garage door is down before they come into the house through the kitchen door. Dad turned quick and saw Murray still in the kitchen and Pearl behind him but...no me! He didn't see me sneak past him (hee hee) and he didn't see the garage door light sensor go on so he didn't know where I was. The garage was pitch black and so was the night at 11pm. He raced back in the kitchen and got us a snack but only Murray and Pearl showed up!! Panic!
He raced through the house looking in all my hiding spots. Nothing! He looked under the cars in the garage. Nada! By this time, Mom was up out of bed yelling "what do you mean you can't find him?" and Dad is yelling "you left the garage door open!!" Hee hee, all this commotion over little ole me.
Dad is in a panic over putting the garage door down in case I'm out there but by this time he has looked in every hiding spot in the house and under every bed. Mom is outside barefoot with a flashlight calling my name. Finally she sees two eyeballs in her flashlight near the shed. She didn't know if it was a big old raccoon or a skunk or me, but she slowly started walking toward the eyeballs. It was me! But I cleverly kept 3 or 4 paces ahead of her. I was enjoying the grass in my tootsies and the smells of the night air. So this is what it looked like from this side of the world. I only got to see it from our sun room windows all day. This was cool and fun.
I sauntered up the steps to get into the sunroom and *snatch* Mom grabbed me. I think she was shaking. She came into the garage holding me so tight and kissing me and Dad's eyes went from total disbelieving fear to utter thankfulness and relief. I couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. I was just out having an evening stroll. Mom says if I had gone under the shed (groundhogs live under there) or in the tall bushes in the back of the yard who knows what would have happened.
I guess Dad won't be saying "how do these people lose their pets anymore?", huh? They know how lucky they are to have found me within 10 minutes. Dad says it felt like 2 hours. To me it was a blur in time and it sure was fun. Now, the joint is locked down like Fort Knox. I think my exploring days may be over...

Today was an extra special birthday for me because my Mom is on vacation and got to stay home with me and give me squishy kisses all day. I even got a little bit of shredded cheese. I can hear cheese being taken out of the fridge from the other side of the house - it is my most favorite food but I only get a little bit once in awhile 'cause I am on the Hill's CD food only.
