Arrival Story:
We brought Murray home from the shelter on March 30, 2005. We didn't know anything about him, not even his age. He was very shy at first but now he pretty much runs the joint. We brought home another big guy to keep him company in May 2005. It took months before they liked each other, but now they are buddies.

From The Mind Of Murray

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I tell all of Murray's friends that we had to let him fly to the Bridge on November 22, 2014. He was a cancer survivor for 3 years and 3 months and a brave boy who never complained.

In August 2014, we found that he had advanced heart disease. After a trial and error of adjusting his medications, he was doing great until early November when he began a heavier pattern of breathing in his abdomen. We learned he had fluid building from an infection. The doctor warned us that this would be extremely difficult to pinpoint and treat due to his weakened heart. The fluid was drained 4 times in 2 weeks until it became almost impossible to keep up with.

We tried two antibiotics, gabapentin, and a potassium supplement. Nothing worked. We brought him home in a fragile state on Friday, November 21. He suffered a seizure or a stroke when he came home. He recovered enough to walk but was clearly not well. He barely slept that night and we didn't either. We knew it was time to let him become an angel. His breathing was labored again after having had his chest drained only the day before.

He broke my heart when he left for heaven but I know he is young and healthy again. I will miss and love him forever.

Not Feeling Well

Hi friends,

I am not feeling well lately. I have an infection in my chest that is causing fluid build-up. Mom & Dad are trying to keep me comfortable. I still love to eat, but spend most of the day sleeping in my tent in the basement. My advanced heart disease makes it extremely difficult to treat the infection more aggressively. Both of my doctors agree that it is very risky for me to undergo any surgeries at this point and that fighting this evil infection is an uphill battle at best. Even being sedated is a risk for me. I am currently on two antibiotics.

Mom and Dad are keeping me as comfortable as they can until I tell them that my little body has had enough. I kicked cancer's butt 3 years ago and I know that I am very, very loved and I have the best friends here on Catster and on FB. What more can a kitty ask for?

In Honor Of Pansy > My Pirate Page

September was Pansy's favorite month on Catster. It was Pirate Month! And oh, what an evil pirate she was. I walked the plank, got blasted with cannon balls, had me ship sank and was sabotaged daily by Miss P's dastardly deeds of evilness. Oh, how I miss her! It was the most fun we ever had on Catster.

So, in honor of our friend Pansy, here is my Pirate Page that she and her Mom made for me in 2011.
