Skills:
Cat Agility (It's like dog Agility but with cats. Much better.), Sit, Come, Beg. It's not a trick, but at night I walk around with my stuffed Dalmatian or lamb and howl. I like to smack small objects off of counters and make my human pick them up.

Arrival Story:
I was rescued close to Christmas, as a stray. I was nine months old. I was brought in and given food and shelter for a few days. My human thought I wouldn't be kept...but I couldn't let that happen, could I?

Bio:
I look like a Chartreux; my human thinks I am crossed with one. I have the cobby, compact body, the apple shaped head, and the yellow eyes. I have a hyperthyroid. The vet says it's borderline, but if it gets any worse something will have to be done. I don't want to be put on drugs because they have terrible side effects...so if it does get worse, I'd like to try a holistic method. Right now I'm getting some sea salt to my food, because salt is essential for thyroid health. Also, I was a Catster Daily Diary Pick on August 13, 2007!

Tagged!

Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't written in a while. I've been busy lying around in the backyard, soaking up all the sunlight I can before it gets getting colder!

Ishtar tagged me! Thanks Ishtar! Now I'll write 7 facts about myself and then tag 7 of my friends.

2. I absolutely LOVE to hunt!! It's my favourite thing in the world! I can't hunt that much anymore because my human keeps me on a leash :( but I can still sneak in a catch once in a while!

2. I am drop-dead beautiful. No doubt about it.

3. I know a few tricks! My best one is scratching my scratching post on cue, but the more traditional tricks I know are -- Beg, Paw, Sit, and C'mere (come). My human is currently teaching me Down (lie down). Oh, and just a note...I don't do the tricks for my human. I do it all for the FOOD!

4. I love food...food is a wonderful blessing!! Especially fresh warm bird or mouse...mmmmmmm.

5. I love exploring boxes, closets, and dark spaces.

6. When the dog tries to play with me, I give her a good hard smack on the muzzle, with claws unsheathed! Muahahaha!

7. I have borderline hyperthyroidism (borderline means that it is very, very mild). I was diagnosed when I was 12. However, a better diet (a mix of Fromm Four-Star dry food and Innova EVO dry food) has saved my life and now I am purrfectly healthy!

I tagged Valentino, Tigga, Izzy, Pepsi, Bella, Zory, and Simone!

The BIRD KILLER!!

August 19th 2008 7:37 am   [link to this entry]

I never told you guys! In June something VERY exciting happened.

I...

...CAUGHT A BIRD!!

A robin to be exact!

Okay, here's what happened. My human let me outside in the backyard and walked over to clip the leash onto my collar. She was shocked to see me leaping in the air next to the house to grab a robin in my claws! Another robin flew away and sat on the fence. the robin's wings fluttered feebly as it tried to get away, but I held it firmly in the mouth. I walked away a bit and just stood there, gripping the bird tightly in my jaws, until it went limp after a couple of minutes. Then I placed it onto the ground and pawed at it to make sure it was really dead. and, of course it was. :)

My human walked over and carefully knelt down. She decided that the robin was a female because of its pale colours, and said that she was definitely dead. (Well as if I didn't know that already!) She was a bit upset by the "poor dead bird" but she couldn't have done anything to save it.

And then...I got to EAT!

My human didn't really want to watch me eat the bird up close, so she went inside the house and peered out at me once in a while from the window. It was a pretty big robin, so I didn't put the whole thing in my mouth at once like how I do with mice. I ripped the biggest feathers off the bird first so I wouldn't have to eat them. Then, I tore into the warm flesh.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........DELIGHT!

It was the MOST EXTRAORDINARY thing I have EVER EATEN!

I'll spare you the details, but it was just so wonderful, the warm taste of flesh and the beautiful fragrance.......mmmmmmmmm!

After I finished eating the bird (yes, the WHOLE ENTIRE bird!) I licked my lips and began to groom myself. All that was left of the bird was the few big wing feathers -- I had eaten everything else of the bird. Yes, it's true! Feathers, legs, head, and all!

My human felt bad for the bird and also for its mate (she presumes) who was perched on the fence the entire time calling for her, but I didn't feel bad at all. The whole experience was just wonderful, grand, amazing, perfect!

I just LOVE being a hunter. I've still got it in me, even at fourteen years old!

The case of the missing donut

August 4th 2008 6:04 pm   [link to this entry]

Yesterday, my human's mom bought half a dozen donuts. My human's brother had a donut, and my human had a donut. So, there were four donuts left...or so they thought! My human left the donut box open after she ate her donut. As my human and her mom were watching a movie together, my human went over to the donut box to get another donut for herself...but saw that there were only THREE donuts left! That didn't make any sense!

My human and her mom looked everywhere for the missing donut, all over the floor and the kitchen, but couldn't find it. My human's mom asked my human's brother if he'd eaten another donut, but he said no. Then my human noticed that there were nibble marks on two of the donuts. She realized...that SHADOW must have eaten the missing donut!! A donut eating cat!!

Vanilla donut with sprinkles. Yummy. :)
