Arrival Story: On one of many of Bixit's trips to the vet, there was a cage of 4-month-old kittens from the Coalition for Animal Protection. We set BoBo up to the cage and Monkey reached out for him. They met in a room and Bixit was not impressed. We took Monkey home anyways and he hid in a spare bedroom. Whenever we'd look for him, he'd skitter away like a spider. We started out calling him Spyder, but as time went by that changed. He would sneak into our room at night and sleep on the bed, although he'd run off if we attempted to touch him. We noticed he made very monkey-like sounds, VERY monkey-like sounds. He also stuck his stinky butt in our faces when he was comfortable enough to get near us. Thus, his name was forever changed to Monkey Butt. BoBo eventually accepted him and they became good buddies.
Bio: Unlike his big brother, Bixit, Monkey hides from people. He's getting better about letting himself be seen. He gave us a big scare when he was younger when we suspected he had eaten nearly a yard of ribbon. I thought we'd surely be shelling out big bucks for a surgery in the next couple days. We watched him over the weekend and he puked a little scrap and pooped some out, then he was fine. Months later as we packed up the spare room, we discovered a dried up little turd attached to 28.5 inches of ribbon. He loved wrestling BoBo, although BoBo would often grab him and lick him into submission. When it became clear that Bixit was not going to be with us much longer, I thought to myself, "Monkey, you should go say bye to Big Brother." When I turned around, Monkey, who normally enjoyed wrestling with and generally annoying BoBo, was laying quietly by him in another room. He took over the duty of waking us for morning bites. I think KiKi enjoyed being an only cat, but alas, we had room for one more.

You guys! Momma and Dadda struggled to force me in my carrier, completely against my will, and when they finally succeeded they made me ride in the car! I hate that so much! Then they brought me to a place I'd never been before, but all our stuff was there! None of our stuff was in order, though. I was so scared! Luckily there was a closet for me to hide in.
This all happened Saturday, and now I'm okay. I'm way up high in an apartment where I can see birds flying! Before we were in a basement apartment, and I could only see birds walking. Too bad I won't be able to see the bunnies or squirrels any more, though.
I'm 4 years-old today, everybody! I had a catnip party this morning, then I passed out in a cardboard box for awhile. Tonight, I get to eat some gnocchi, a potato dumpling-type pasta, though I'd get some of that even if it wasn't my bday! MOL!
I feel very fortunate to be spending my life with good people in a safe and stable home. I'm so happy I got to live myfirst year-and-a-half or so with my big brother, BoBo. And I'm glad for my little brother, Smugg, who cuddles and plays with me. I wish every kitty in the world could be as happy as me.
AND when Momma and Dadda got home, there was a special delivery waiting for me from my "brother from another mother," Alfie! I got catnip treats and bubbles, a special toy called a Cat Dancer, some Greenies, and (my fav) a DVD for kitties! Me and Smugg tried to catch the gerbils, squirrels, butterflies, fishies, and birdies that taunted us on the screen! Oh my cat! There's a chipmunk!!
