Arrival Story:
While I was deployed the second, Butch got a kidney infection. He was put on medication and special food and lasted about 1 1/2 years more. Finally, he grew so thin and weak, we knew it was time to let him go. I'm relieved he was able to hang on until age 17 and when I was home with him.
When we moved into our new condo in 1995, my husband brought back a cat from Citizens for Animal Protection. He picked Butch because he had been adopted and taken back to the shelter 5 times for various reasons. Well, we've stuck with him all these years, and he's stuck with us (catch that double entendre?)
Bio:
Butch is getting up there now and is not as active as he used to be. He was constantly trying to sneak out of the house as soon as the door was opened. Now, be can't be bothered, and hardly comes downstairs. That's probably because of Rex the terror dog and cat harasser.
