"Dear Little Ghost, whose memory has never faded from my heart, sleep sweetly in the fields of asphodel, and waken, as of old, to stretch thy languid length and purr thy soft contentment to the skies.

Arrival Story: My husband and I met Bixit one fine day in 2000. He was under the care, as were several other kitties, of our friend, Robin. She had told us she had the perfect cat for us; he was a black and white neuetered male. We insisted we couldn't have a cat in our apartment. On this fine day in 2000, we bumped into Robin outside of her home which was in our neighborhood. She convinced us we should get a formal introduction to "Ditto," which was Bixit's original name. As we ascended the stairs to her place my husband insisted, " We are NOT getting a cat." At the top of the stairs was a very handsome and chubby feline. I immediately asked this cat what he thought of my husband. His response was a friendly rub up against my husband's leg. This agreeable reaction prompted my husband to declare, "We'll take him!!" and we did so on the spot.
Bio: Bixit Boseph was, and remains to this day, an indescribable friend with immeasurable value. He added a quality to our lives and our souls; he revealed to us what lies in the souls of animals. He was the first person I saw each morning and the last one I saw each night. No morning was complete without his patented Bonk-b-Gonk (head-butt) or smiff (gentle sniff of the eyelid coupled with whisker-tickles); no bedtime complete without him tucking us in.
He was the most friendly of cats, EVERYBODY loved our BoBo. Nobody doubted our love for him. He loved us. He spent not a waking moment without purring.
Close to a year-and-a-half before we lost BoBo, he got a little brother named Monkey Butt. This was not immediately acceptable to Bixit, but the two grew to love each other. They groomed each other frequently.
My husband and I both had his paw print tattooed to our backs a couple years ago. We got them intending to memorialize them one day. We didn't think the day would come so soon.
Bixit was never the picture of perfect health. He had trouble with his weight and bowel movements as well as urine crystals. Everything seemed to be under control. One day in 2006, he began to get skinny and stopped grooming. Monkey stayed away from him. His appetite had been diminishing a little, but we didn't think it was that bad. Trips to the vet revealed nothing to us about his condition. Exploratory surgery was required to determine the problem. The problem was cancer, cancer that had hidden from tests but nonetheless completely consumed our BoBo.
We took him home, and Monkey did take a quiet moment to say good-bye. The doctor came to our home on April 20, 2006 and we said our "good-byes" and "I'm sorries" and "we love yous."
We will never question the capacity of animals to love. We will never forget that miracles can manifest themselves in many benevolent forms. We will never see another like Bixit Boseph, though we know we'll see him again one fine day.

My family moved out of my last apartment. It was in that kitchen (where I did all my best eating) that we said our Final Night-Nights. There were lots of great kitty people in that complex, and Mom and Dad hated to leave them. But now they live closer to work and don't have to pay so much for gasoline. Oh, the worries of the hooman world. I don't envy them.
My little box of ashes went with them, of course. It's up on a book shelf where they can see it. I'm not in that box, but what's left of my Earth Self is. Mom and Dad reminisced about how I used to check the acoustics in our new homes by meowing into all the corners! There are no walls where I am now, though, so no corners. That thought makes them happy. A free-roaming BoBo, fat and content.
May 22nd was designated as my birthday way back when, and then it became my pawrents' wedding anniversary. I would've been 11 years-old, but as it stands now I'm immortal! ;) Immortal and fat and languid and purrful!
I purr for my peoples to have a great 4th anniversary, to always be happy and watch over my brofurs (and sisfurs if I ever get any)!
Geez, that last entry was kinda depressing! Mom should post more often when she and Dadda are remembering the happy times! Just the other day they were laughing about the time they took me out in the snow! I didn't like it very much, it was cold on my jelly bean toes! When I walked away from where they set me down, there was a big belly dent in the snow! I admit, I was kinda tubby when I first met them. MOL! ;)
